Julie London

American actress, singer, and recording artist.
Born September 26. 1926 in Santa Rosa, California, USA.
Died October 18, 2000 in Encino (L.A.), California, USA (age 74).

London started her career as an actress in the 1940s. She married actor Jack Webb (m.1947-1954) and went into semi-retirement, doing a few films and even taking a break between 1951-1955. After her divorce she became a jazz/pop singer, managed and groomed by jazz musician/actor Bobby Troup, who became her husband in 1959. She left her film career to concentrate on her full-time singing career until 1969, when she recorded her last studio album.

London also starred in the TV hit series Emergency! for 126 episodes between 1972 and 1978 as RN Dixie McCall, alongside her husband Bobby Troup, who played Dr. Joe Early.
