He played with various foreign musicians including Peruquois, Cleveland Watkiss, Nadia Washington, JD Walter, Andromeda Turre, Bill Saxton, Mike Rodriguez and many others. He also performed with famous Russian musicians like Billy Novik, Oleg Butman, Anna Buturlina, Vitaly Golovnev, Petr Vostokov. Anton works as a leading accompanist in two universities of Ekaterinburg.
Jon Davis was born in 1957 and from an early age, he learned to play the piano and guitar. After several classes with legendary Lennie Tristano, Jon entered the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. But in a year after that, his concert calendar was so packed
that he had to leave the Conservatory. In 1980s Jon moved to San-Francisco where he regularly played in John Haley Quartet and often with such legendary jazz musicians as Joe Henderson, Milt Jackson and Stan Getz. In the mid-'80s Jon Davis and the drummer Brian Melvin started a new project with an outstanding bass player Jaco Pastorius and for several years they performed on tour around Europe.
They made five recordings together one of which became «jazz classics» and Jon Davis gained international recognition as a performer and a composer. By the way, this was the only piano trio with Jaco Pastorius. In the early ‘90s, Jon Davis returned to New York. For many years he was a resident of such world-famous jazz clubs as “Blue Note” and “Small”, where only elite jazz musicians could perform.
Jon’s discography includes more than 50 albums and his «record of accomplishments» including his performing with so many respectful musicians speaks for itself. Jon Davis played with Joe Henderson, Stan Getz, Eddie Harris, Mike Stern, Phil Woods, Bob Berg, Milt Jackson, Nora Jones, Victor Bailey, Brian Blade, Larry Grenadier, Claudio Roditi, Kenny Garrett, Adam Nussbaum. Now Jon Davis leads a creative life, he is often on tour with various famous jazz musicians from all over the world.
