ABBA – The Studio Albums

Invested in this coloured vinyl box set. My sealed copy turned up with two copies of the album ABBA and was missing The Visitors... probably an unfortunate one-off issue but poor. Thankfully was able to sort this with the seller. The white vinyl Arrival has distortion on most tracks and this becomes particularly noticeable towards the end of the album. I actually bought a separate white vinyl copy to try to replace and an identical problem, so clearly a bad pressing. Same problem towards the end of The Waterloo album. This is all a great shame because the other albums sound fantastic and the coloured vinyl looks nice. Not sure I can recommend unless you are prepared to stomach the quality control issue and buy a separate standard vinyl copy of Arrival. I think ABBA themselves would not be impressed with the quality control here if they knew. Does your mother know...?

I wish they had included a rarities disc. I especially love the bonus tracks in The Visitors.

All the colours are excellent. However, the green of "ABBA the album" is VERY dark, almost black. Pointless really. And the blue of "Voulez Vous" is dark too, though not black looking like "The Album". People elsewhere have bitched about the quality of the sleeve reproductions. I don't really see why, they're TONS better than some of the horrendous vinyl reissue that we've had in recent years; even MOV have been guilty of that! Overall, this is a fantastically produced collector's item that any fan would be pleased with. Incidentally, by watching Amazon UK, I got mine for only £104! Nice one ☺️

Absolutely stunning box set! The box is sturdy, and well designed. Overall the 8 records are pressed really well, and have beautiful sound quality. The inner and outer sleeves are gorgeous and printed well. 10/10 this box set is perfect for ABBA fans, or someone (like me) who didn't have any original pressings yet. Love how the colored records coordinate with the album covers.

Apparently the download card doesn't come with all releases. There is no mention of a download card with my copy. Don't know if that depends on if it's the U.S or Europe issue. If it's not included in all issues, the description should probably be changed to say something along the lines of...may or may not include download card. None the less, sounds excellent.

Can someone please comment on sound quality...I heard rumors that it has a poor sound quality...is this true?
