Reviews
- If you get any marks on the box that appear to make it dirty, be very careful in attempting to clean it. I used just water and a washcloth to attempt to remove the stains, and it took black color out of the linen, and my silver ink is smudging.
- This is a nice set! Other reviewers have mentioned that this is a box of previously released albums. But the box is very nice, it's silver stamped on black linen with a magnetic closure. The special items included are a signed picture and slipmat. Even at the marked up price, it's more convenient and affordable than collecting all the albums individually, and you get the exclusive bonus items.
- Laut Angabe der Hersteller sind 1000 davon aufgelegt worden!
Geile Musik aber teilweise sind die Cover nicht schön geklebt! - Edited 3 years agoCaveat emptor - most of this stuff is pressed by United Record Pressing, and it shows. A lot of serious scuffing and minor warping out of the shrink, and even a chunk of regrind label. The picture discs are done by GZ Media via Vinyl Record Guru, so they're a bit higher quality (though they are picture discs with all of the inherent problems of that format). The content of the set is great, but I really wish they'd use another pressing plant. I'd be happy to have a bunch of GZ-pressed discs - they're not the best, but they're usually leaps and bounds better on quality control than URP.
- Longtime Clutch fan here and overall I’m satisfied with this set. I do have a couple questions / curiosities / critiques. It seems to me like they just took leftovers of the last batch of pressings of these and put em in a box. With that said, it would have been nice if they would have redone the deluxe packaging of the first pressings of Blast Tyrant and Strange Cousins. Additionally, the notion that this is “the complete Weathermaker releases” isn’t exactly accurate. There’s the omission of Earth Rocker Live, which I know only came packaged with the original album in a double picture disc — but why not include that instead of just the ER single album? Would have been more interesting than La Curandera which has nearly all songs already contained in the box. There’s also no Mad Sidewinder RSD single, and since they included Pitchfork which was also an RSD release that seems like an oversight. The slipmat, art print, and box are all very lavish but as far as the music within I just wish there was more exclusivity. A bonus 7” or something. The music comes first, and I’ve loved hearing Clutch on vinyl for the first time on overall great sounding discs (the only exception being Earth Rocker, which is much quieter than the other albums). A great collectors piece, a justifiable price point (before flippers, which I see sadly includes some indie stores), that just lacks one or two extra pieces of a WOW factor. 7.5/10.
- I've got a feeling there were a lot more than 550 of these things made. Im guessing between 1 and 2k.
- Just ordered the box @ $399 + $150 shipping - Exited, But steep cost :/ (Shipping overseas)
The markup from SRP is also quite high - but to be expected for this. - I bought it. Its wonderful. Not having any Clutch at all other than a few digital downloads, and liking the music, I thought it a good buy. $300 bucks cash money got me a sweet boxed set at roughly 18 dollars an LP. Plus the magnetically closed box, the mat and the signed 12 x 12 picture. Opened it up and played them. No regrets.
Nope. No colored vinyl. Meh. So what. Colored vinyl doesn't change the music or the sound.
