Reviews
- The 1st press has "O Baby" on label (later pressings have "Oh Baby), The 1st press has NO sleeve printers mentioned on back sleeve (later pressings have also nothing or "Howards Printers (Slough) Ltd., England" or "Clout & Baker Ltd"). 1st press have "1072 43" (october 1972 week 43) factory dated "Plastic bags can be dangerous ..." inner sleeve. "Howards Printers (Slough) Ltd., England" sleeve is used in year 1977, typically there is "733" (year 1977 week 33) dated inner sleeve with spaceship label disc on it.
- I have a version that is exactly the same as this one but 'Printed and made by Howards Printers (Slough) Ltd., England.' is not shown on my copy on the foot of the back cover. There is also a 04 at 6 o'clock on side A runouts. Has anyone else got a similar version and does it class as a new submission?
- I have a copy of Piledriver Irish issue on the Philips blue label with made in Ireland the labels..Cat no: 6380 082.1 1972..
- I have a copy of Piledriver, LP, Album, 6360 082 (not a Gat) marketed in New Zealand by Phonogram 1972 which does not appear in any searches matching any search criteria. Is this another indeed another version?
- Can anyone figure out whilst this is only showing two versions on main page and then all the others once click on image
- This is Status Quos tour de force. The album that set the template for future classic albums like Hello, Quo, On the Level & Blue For You. The band had dabbled in blues rock on their previous two offerings Ma Kelly and Dog of Two Head but with this they found the perfect marriage of blues rock and heavy rock. The barrage of 3 chord boogie rock begins with a fans live favourite Dont Waste My Time & ends with their powerful stomping cover of The Doors Roadhouse Blues. In-between there is the brilliant Oh Baby, the single Paper Plane with its killer riff & the hard rockin Big Fat Mama. Only on the songs A Year and Unspoken Words is there a short refrain from the relentless onslaught.
