another bullshit situation, a very common lp sells for hundreds of euros!!!! if it was rare there wouldn't be 10 sellers only in discogs!!!!

Following up on the previous review by chenoved...

I, too, have a flawless 1U/1U and this MoFi. Both are as NM as they get and both appeared unplayed when I obtained them (who knows if they were, but at worst they have seen very little play time). I agree that the 1U is better. I don't know if I would say "WAY" better, but no doubt it is better for the reasons he/she listed below. Also my 1U plays quieter (not that the MoFi is full of noise or anything, just a couple of ticks), though of course that can vary record to record. The 1U is truly much more "emotional" along with a more natural warmth. The cover is worse as well (not that I care too much about that) but again, he/she is right. It lacks detail.

I have 7 different pressings of Meddle and the 1U is the definitive one. This is 2nd. After that, and a huge price drop, I'd seek out a UK H.T.M. pressing.

The comparison was done on a VPI Prime > Soundsmith Aida MKII > McIntosh MA352 > Rocket 33s > McIntosh XRT-22s.

bought this one seald. also have a mint original 1971 1u press.
i must say - the 1u is WAY better than the mfsl.
the mfsl is too much bass and highs, and the mids just blow down between them. i did enjoy at first listening, the sound is really amazing and surprising, but then i decided to try the 975-1u issue because "echoes" is my most beloved work of music ever, and i wanted the defenitive press of that, so i purchased the 1u press as well to compare between them both head to head.
the 1u is more stereo perfect, more warm, natural and balanced, bass is punch better and way more exciting and very emotional to listen too. The sound just hugs you around.
no one disturbed to the other - and the harmonic is just more calm and pure to my ears without a doubt.
the mfsl sounds more like clear cd and a bit colder next to the really nice and warm 1u press. even the cover print is kind of blurry and looks like a bootleg print next to the beautiful textured original 1u cover with the phosphorescent blue colour.
Not sure if it's worth the invesment.

Definitely a great version of this album! Comparing to a clean 2nd UK press and a Capitol US press, the dynamics are sonically brilliant as opposed to the other 2! Huge open sound stage, impressive 3d imaging, and the feeling the band is singing and playing in my living room.. Not sure what else I could ask for!!

# 4931 sounds pretty damn amazing. Value keeps on rising!

It's better than the first UK pressing in all aspects except the lowest bass. The UK's has better bass.

Just opened a sealed copy, number 3339. It's living up to it's reputation in a big way. So happy to have this one in my collection.

My number is #1513, amazing sound quality, very well balanced and spacious sound stage. This will just keep climbing in value... so rare and incredible pressing!

#4424 in my collection, had to have it because it has my favorite song ever, period (Echoes) and it sounds absolutely amazing. The Pompeii version of Echoes is better, but Meddle is my favorite PF album. Thankfully I bought it before the price went totally crazy.
