Proper Review - This is the best sounding pressing of this album. It has a 3D sound and the music slaps you across the room! Jim never sounded better, the only other album that sounds like this is the AP Morrison Hotel release. I compared this to a 1970 Robert Ludwig pressing, and although he did an outstanding job, this AP record destroys it
So I ordered the complete Doors catalog from AP almost a year ago and never got around to playing this one. Tonight I found out that I got two discs #2. Crap! I live outside the USA so returning it will cost me more than ordering a new one, but now I an hesitant wondering if this is a recurring problem.
Question - do all of these have light and flat cardboard sleeves? I just opened my copy and the cover doesn’t have the weight or gloss that all my Doors AP pressings have. Feels more like a common reissue rather than part of the AP set. Just an observation, the records themselves sound absolutely fantastic. It sounds like Morrison is in front of you, and it will blow your mind!
I did some research into what Doors pressings sound the best and it led me to try the AAP 45rpm reissues. The Soft Parade is my first one and i am blown away by the sound on this record. This is by far the best sounding album i own. The soundstage is wide and crystal clear, the lows are thundering and the highs are crisp. I am definitely convinced to buy the remaining albums from AAP.
10/10 would recommend this to anyone wanting amazing sounding Doors on wax. Well worth the extra money !!
