This is a high energy display of chops, on brand for "modern" Blue Note collaborations. It features a young Kenny Garrett, before he was a big deal.
The arrangements are tight, intellectual, and daring.
I first picked this up in '88, on cassette, while studying jazz in college. It was provocative then, and remains as such today.
