This is a terribly recorded and mixed album... the pressing sounded terrible at first but i have compared to the digital versions and it is the same , the pressing does sound better if you crank it up but it always sounds muddy and the panning gets annoying

A first press maybe sounds more organic but still the mix is the mix ...

I am happy with this pressing , especially since i picked it up used for about £10

This is almost unlistenable due to the tinny production of this pressing, made worse by the album's harsh-sounding instrumentation, but I assume the original pressing had full sound. With mid-range turned down there was improvement.

Decent. £13 for a Recoed Industry pressing who do great work so its nice and quiet. Anyone moaning about this not sounding amazing needs to accept this has always been a wonderful raw mess of a record and is all the more FUNKY for it! When the Funkadelics later sound ended up clean the band lost alot of its magic imho

could be a better pressing, could be a worse pressing. mine didn't really have the outright flatness issue that others have described however it's definitely lacking in sound depth. for being one of the cheaper pressings you absolutely could do worse

Totally agree with with Musicfreak98. There are some poor versions of this record circulating and this is definitely not one of them. I Think the mastering is perfectly balanced and it sounds exactly as it should. If you are turning the bass up and lowering the treble, then something is clearly wrong; this is how the author wanted you to hear it, and maybe its not to your liking. It sounds absolutely fantastic on my turntable. I would highly recommend this pressing

Poor mastering! Very dissapointing about the record and i was so happy it arrived so fast.

This is unfortunately not a good transference from digital tapes. It can be played with bass turned up and treble turned down, but it still lacks the body and core of mid and lower frequency sound.

Does anyone know the year of this reissue of an album?

Mastered Very quietly. pretty disappointing, was trying to upgrade 4men pressing which is louder but kind of distorted.
