Issued in "special limited edition" hand-numbered slip-top box, with two foam inserts. Printed in the U.S.A.

Includes an 8-page 11-3/4" x 11-3/4" booklet with photographs and original liner notes, catalog number 8869794361.

Some copies may have been part of a test run of a new vinyl compound known as Mobile Fidelity SuperVinyl, which was used for UltraDisc One-Step issues. These copies appear translucent (dark grey or smoky grey-blue) rather than opaque. Owners have reported their copies are numbered roughly from 12,750 to 13,500.

Awful. KoB pressings are kind of risky because it's such a dynamic record that's not the easiest to pull off in this format. However, MoFi's quality control is non-existent. After receiving a faulty copy with a dent in one of the discs, MoFi sent me a replacement disc some two months later, which I foolishly didn't listen to closely immediately. That disc was also damaged. As is the other disc in the set. I don't mind the digital step at all, but MoFi just have bad QC, so their records can sound really bad. I'm not trusting them again. I binned this set as I couldn't bear to listen to it again, or even look at it.

Nice-looking cover and vinyl records! The sound quality is superb, without pops, clicks, or surface noise. Everything is of high quality—this is how it should be done!

My record player: Pro-Ject Debut Pro with a MoFi Ultratracker cartridge.

Sounded great a few years back when I first obtained it. It still sounds wonderful. Puts you right there in the studio. It has great presence and despite what some may say about MOFI etc. it just really does sound great. Is it the best? I don’t know. That’s for you and your ears to figure out. For me it sounds good to a degree that I can’t imagine it being able to sound much better.

DISAPPOINTED to the 'enth degree! Nimbus is the best. Even the Mastersound is superiorl Someday My Prince mastered by Ricker & Miller was top tier. The 2nd coming of MOFI continues to seek the $ from brand, yet, the mastering and more severely disappoint! Note how many disappointments and returns the 2nd coming gets in comparison to the original MFSL.

Sounds incredible. If you want to know the truth….look at all the reviews prior to 2022. It’s funny how everyone raved about how great it was before MOFIgate and the UHQR release. Goes to show how much of a lemming mentality exists in the vinyl community. If you want it…get it. It sounds fantastic and far better than most versions.

Sounds bloated in the bass and the horns are relaxed compared to other versions of this album. Does have a wide sound stage though.
I have the Music on Vinyl (MOV) version (33 rpm) and to my ears, it’s better balanced and more present. It’s also a fair bit cheaper than the Mofi too. Given they are both digitally sourced, the MOV wins out being better value.

picked this up for a good price just out of curiosity, and I'm quite pleased. it's a sexy version of this album; the bass is mesmerising. the horns are a bit relaxed, but i've a bright cart, so it works beautifully. for a reasonable price, this is a very nice way to listen to this album.

When , oh when , will they finally issue / release the very last version of this one ?
My answer is : hardly ever ! Why ? There is a lot of money to be earned on "better then ever "versions of it !
That is , at least , what we've been told by re-issuers to spend our our money again !

How can you know its better than the AP if you never heard the UHQR? Real desperate to sell your MFSL for 170$ eh?
