- I'm not sure if it's just me that's very unlucky, but every first press i have bought has very bad distortion on the title track? Played my two US presses and they have much more clarity and edge to the drums? I'll have to keep looking.
- This is the best version of the best album ever made. I have various other versions including the MoFSL but this has never been beaten for dynamic storms quality
- Hi all, I'm trying to match up my copy but not quite there. Charisma Records, Gatefold sleeve, printed in England by Robor Limited, Side A: - CDS4001 A//1 T2 27 and Side B:- CDS4001 * B//1 T 14 17. Any assistance would be very much appreciated, thanks!
- Edited 5 months agoAfter several equipment upgrades and after listening to a number of different pressings I can now confidently say that this CDS 4001 A//1 / B//1 pressing is the one to get. Even the MoFi doesn't cut it. It for sure sounds great and I appreciate the quiet vinyl, but for me it lacks the liveliness and punch of the original A//1 UK. The UK issue has it all, punch, bass, organic sound and liveliness. I just wish the vinyl would have been better (quieter)...
- I have this version. The inner sleeve has 2.5 inch round sticker with an image of the left hand side of front cover (highway man to devil) it has Genesis on top and Charisma records on the bottom. It looks like it may be off original shrink wrap. Can anyone confirm this, I’ve added image to listing - if it’s wrong someone will tell me I’m sure
- just bought at carboot sale cheap......get in, very happy. la la la laaaaaaaa laaa laa la la la la la la la laaaaaaaaaaa la
- Even though my copy is a little noisy in some spots, the music is much more dynamic on the UK pressing than the couple US Atco pressings I’ve heard and listened to.
I’m not sure how the MoFi pressing will compare to this one, but for now it’s one of my favorite sounding pressings from this band.
