RECORD GRADING:
All my records for sale are play graded, as well as visually graded, which is somewhat subjective. I do not play each record all the way through both sides when grading, so there may be problems with the record I've missed, particularly with LP's. I want my customers to be happy, so please let me know if you disagree on how I've graded a record & we'll work something out.
78 rpm records are held to a lower standard than 45's & LP's when I grade. For example, a 78 rated VG+ or NM- is not going to sound as good as an LP or 45 with the same grading. 78 rpm records are typically much older. I will "play grade" 78's based on the standards expected for the age of the media. On an older 78, some light background noise is almost to be expected & can be reduced or mostly eliminated by turning down the treble control on your high fidelity record player. The machines these records were designed to be played on didn't have a lot of treble response.

NEW DISCOGS BUYERS READ:
Record you are buying typically isn't the exact one shown in the picture(s). Discogs is not like eBay or Craig's List where posted pictures are the same as the item you are purchasing.
The grading system used on Discogs uses terminology for grading that you might not be familiar with. If you are expecting a 33 or 45 record to play well with minimal background noise, you want to be looking for records graded VG+ or NM-. Records rated below this (VG, G+, & G) have groove wear that you will notice when you play the record. In other words, a G (Good) record is barely playable, a G+ not much better.

AUDIOPHYLES/DISCOGRAPHERS PLEASE READ:
When it comes to minutiae, such as matrix runouts, stampings & etchings in dead wax, etc., I may not always get it right. As you know, some recordings have numerous releases with only slight variances. If any of this is particularly important to you, please ask me to verify before buying a record, just to be on the safe side. I only want happy customers. Also, if you think I may have mislisted a record, please give me a heads up so I can correct the listing.
