Discogs now automatically charges sales tax to a number of USA states -- see https://support.discogs.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025508973-Why-Do-I-See-Sales-Tax-On-My-Order- . Shipments to Australia are also automatically charged 10% GST.
International shipping from the USA is expensive. The best way to save on shipping is to buy more than one record, which will lower your per-record shipping cost. In most cases 2 records will ship for the same price as 1.
Buyer pays shipping and handling fee as noted below. All shipments include a tracking number. Shipments to the USA and select international destinations (see below) will track all the way to delivery confirmation. Other international destinations will track within the USA only on usps.com but you may be able to track them further using the same number on your own country's postal website. Any other special services (insurance, signature confirmation, etc) are extra -- please contact me for rates.
LPs or 12"s or 10"s or reel-to-reel tapes
USA: $4.75 MEDIA MAIL any number of LPs.
CANADA: 1-2 LPs is $18.50. 3-4 LPs is $27.50. Larger orders will be custom quoted.
WORLD: 1-2 LPs is $25.25. 3-4 LPs is $38.50. Larger orders will be custom quoted.
7"s or CDs or cassette tapes or 8-tracks tapes
USA: $3.50 MEDIA MAIL any number of 7"s/CDs. At my discretion, very light items such as 1 cassette tape or 1 CD in certain non-jewel case packaging may be automatically upgraded to 1st class mail.
CANADA: 1-2 7"s/CDs is $11.00. 3-6 7"/CDs is $18.00. Larger orders will be custom quoted.
WORLD: 1-2 7"s/CDs is $14.75. 3-6 7"/CDs is $24.00. Larger orders will be custom quoted.
Mixed international orders (LPs + 7"s, etc) will be custom quoted, but in general, 1-3 7"s count as 1 LP.
Upon request, packages with multiple CDs going overseas can be sent without jewel cases in order to reduce weight and shipping cost.
78s (10" or 12" shellac)
USA: $6.00 MEDIA MAIL any number of 78s.
CANADA: Each order will be custom quoted, but a single 78 will usually mail for $20.00.
WORLD: Each order will be custom quoted, but a single 78 will usually mail for $26.50.
The extra cost for 78s is due to higher costs for the oversized packaging, which also often results in heavier packages. Shellac 78s need to be sandwiched between multiple sheets of cardboard, and then placed in a large box with packing peanuts. See http://www.claxtonola.com/shipping78s/ - the only exception is that vinyl 78s (only certain 1950s pressings) can be sent at the LP rate above, using regular LP mailing boxes and standard cardboard padding.
International Delivery Confirmation tracking number:
Given the vintage nature of my inventory, returns are generally not accepted. The exception would be if I mis-advertised the item, either by listing it as the wrong version or if I made an error in grading. Grading is defined here as both the cover and sleeve grade, and my specific notes on the listing. In most cases, it is preferable to come to a mutual agreement with a partial refund. Due to the high cost of shipping these days, returns for full refunds rarely make sense, but are possible if the situation calls for it. I will only pay return shipping for my own errors.
Sealed records policy:
I always open any sealed records I have that I suspect of being a re-seal or possibly warped, but it is impossible for me to be 100% accurate in guessing their contents. Upon request, I will open a sealed record for you AFTER you have paid for it but BEFORE sending it. If there is any problem, I will refund you 100%. But if the record is sent to you sealed, you may only return in the same still sealed condition, only with my pre-approval, and at your cost. If you break the seal, you own the record regardless of its actual condition and there will be absolutely no full or partial refunds.
Drop shipping policy:
No, I will not fulfill your drop shipping order. No, you may not relist my inventory on Amazon, eBay, etc and expect me to ship directly to your customer when you get a sale. Yes, I will report you to Discogs support if you try. I reserve the right to require your Paypal mailing address matches the address you are asking me to ship to if I suspect you are trying to test this policy, thank you.
