To make life easier, we only charge shipping & handling cost for the first CD in your order. If you buy more than one cd, all the extra CDs get FREE shipping! :)

Air Mail: $ 7.10 ~ $7.99 (depending on your region)
(Available only for orders under $50, and for countries listed below under "Air Mail Eligible"):

Registered Air Mail / e-Packet: $14.25 ~ $16.25 (depending on your region)
(With online tracking, available for countries listed below under "Registered Eligible")

EMS: $16.75 ~ $26.75 (depending on your region)
(With online tracking, fastest service from Japan. Available for countries listed below under "EMS Eligible")

To make this easier, we only charge a flat shipping cost on ONE item within an order (you pay shipping cost 'per package' not 'per item'). So, if your order qualifies for Registered Air Mail for example ($14.25) your shipping cost will be $14.25 - no matter if you buy 1 CD, or 20 CDs.

Please Note: Shipping is always calculated based on the heaviest/largest item in your order. The general rule is, we only charge shipping 'per package', not 'per item' (this way you only pay shipping cost on the one item in the order). However, to ensure this generous method is not taken advantage of, the item which will have shipping cost applied to it, will be the largest/heaviest item in the order. For example, if you buy 10 standard CDs, you'll pay the shipping fee for one CD (let's say you choose Registered Air Mail, and you live in France, that means, $14.25 would be your shipping cost- no matter if you buy 1 CD, or 20 CDs). Now, if you buy a CD, and, a Vinyl Record a few hours later (shipping for Vinyl via Registered Air Mail to France is $24.25), your shipping cost would not be $14.25 (based on the CD) but rather, $24.25 (based on the vinyl). In this instance, you can keep adding more records or CDs, and the shipping cost won't increase.

Japan Post has recently increased their rates by as much as 50% for most destinations (for example, a package with one CD, sent to the U.S. cost 1400 yen until recently, now costs 2100 yen (an increase of 50%). Some people have been rightfully asking "I used to pay around $14-15 for EMS- why did you increase to $21 now?" The simple answer is: we didn't increase the shipping costs: Japan Post did. Remember, when you pay shipping costs, those are not costs you're paying us: that is money we pay to Japan Post, to ship your package to you. Everyone wants to pay less for shipping (in fact, no one wants lower shipping costs that we do, because higher shipping costs render some customers to second guess placing an order). However, the reality is that shipping rates (like most services around the world) rise over time, while the value of fiat currencies continues to be debased. What 1000 yen could buy you 3 or 4 years ago, one might need 1300 or 1400 yen to buy today.

In order to continue giving everyone the best service we possible can, within the limits presented to us by Japan Post, we now only add shipping cost for the FIRST item in your order. So, whether you buy 1 item, or 20 items, your shipping cost never increases after the first item. If your shipping cost for one CD via Registered service is $14.25, then your shipping cost will still be just $14.25 even if you order 20 items in that same order. In short: you pay shipping for the first CD, we cover shipping cost for any extra CDs you add to your order. :)

In accordance with recent Australian tax regulations, all sellers on Discogs must now collect tax for your government. We do not receive any compensation for this labour, and in fact, take a loss in doing so. If $10,000 is collected in a given year in Australian taxes, the Australian government will expect us to remit that exact amount: $10,000. However, they do not take into consideration the reality that $10,000 remitted, does not equal $10,000 received. Assuming a merchant accepts Paypal as a form of payment (as many do), $10,000 remitted to us in Australian GST may mean only $9,500 was received after Paypal fees.

Despite this, we are expected to remit the full amount ($10,000 in this example). In other words, not only are non-Australian merchants operating outside of Australia expected to perform labour (tax collection) without compensation, they are also expected to remit more than they actually receive. That amount (in this example, $500) would appear to constitute taxes out of pocket being paid to a foreign government without receiving any of the benefits those taxes guarantee.

To recuperate the difference between taxes you remit to us and the amount we actually receive, we will be adding 0.7% of the order amount in the shipping field.

For example, if you placed an order for $90 + $10 Shipping (total of $100), we will add $0.70 in the shipping field above the shipping costs (this means your total would be $100.70), in order to recuperate the lost amount. These amounts are negligible as you can see (a mere 70 cents on a $100 order), however this will reflect our objection on principle to paying tax in Australia without receiving any benefits those taxes guarantee other taxpayers.

We sincerely apologize for this to all of our loyal Australian customers.

If you purchase a BOXSET or heavier item, the rates will be adjusted based on the item's weight or format (please do not expect a large CD boxset to be sent across the globe for $7.10- that's not realistic). There are instances where the weight information available on Discogs for a larger/heavier item is incorrect. Thus, is entirely plausible that the Discogs shipping rate calculator may show the shipping fee applicable to one CD ($7.10) on a 20 CD boxset, for example. These are very rare instances, but- if you're about to buy a heavy/large boxset, and the shipping fee appears to be too good to be true- please double check with us to ensure the shipping fee automatically applied by Discogs is correct. Keep in mind: most of the data in Discogs' database is submitted and edited by the public. Thus, there are errors in some cases (for example, in the weight of an item, the format, or other item specifics) which can lead to the automatic shipping calculator applying an incorrect shipping rate. In such cases, we will contact you after the order is received, with the correct shipping rate. You will of course be free to proceed with the order at that time, or cancel if you wish to.

Buyers who do not have an established reputation here on Discogs (Feedback score of 2 or less) or have received complaints from other sellers regarding their conduct on this site may be offered EMS or Registered shipping service at our discretion, exclusively for our mutual protection (to ensure your package will reach you quickly).

SHIPPING for LASERDISCS, VHS Cassettes, etc:

LaserDiscs will ship at the same rates as Vinyl/LPs.

VHS Cassettes will ship at the same rate as DVDs.

While we make efforts to dispatch orders within 1-3 business days, on rare occasion we may require a few extra days to dispatch an order (even if your order has already been marked as Shipped). Please remain patient in such cases, and trust in the quality service record we have established online over the years. There is no need to ask for a tracking number: our team will send you the tracking number as soon as it becomes available to us. Requesting tracking information numerous times will not lead to a quicker response. Our staff consists of music lovers and collectors. We order plenty of CDs and records online for our own collections, so we understand excitement associated with having a cool record or CD on its way to us. We will upload tracking information to you as soon as we are able to do so.

On rare occasion, some users will place an order for items, without having the actual intent of purchasing: instead, they only wish for us to hold the item for them (make it unavailable to others) while they decide if they wish to proceed with the order or not.

Please do not place an order, and then proceed to ask questions about the item ("Hi, can I see pictures of the item I just bought? I want to check if it's the right edition/condition, etc").

It is unfair to other Discogs members who might be interested in the item, but will not longer see it, because you've placed the order (but are in fact uncertain whether or not you'll proceed). If you're curious about an item, be respectful to others: ask questions before placing the order. We'll be happy to respond quickly (often within minutes. Only place your order once you are certain you wish to honour the transaction. Do not use the Order system to simply place items on hold, while deciding whether or not to complete the transaction.
