ELITE_MUSIC

October 7, 2018

I have no criticism for this band and their music, unlike the other punters and self-proclaimed cognoscenti here below. While the music may be viewed by some as generic and unremarkable, I find no fault with this well-produced and well-composed sound. Being fanatic for harder and "dark"er approaches to trance, progressive house, and techno, I am surprised and satisfied by TRANCE[]CONTROL's skill in articulating forward-thinking and cutting-edge joints while maintaining a mass-appeal guise.

[B1] "A Travel in Time" is really cosmic in atmosphere, and with a different rhythm-section sound [in terms of harder EBM-style bassline and gated/compressed kick] would to me in 2018, sound like the dark Psy-Trance I currently crave and can't get enough of.

[A1] "In Trance We Trust" appears to be the most standard-sounding Euro Trance track that would fit nicely in some big-name DJs' sets, or on Perfecto Records, or [various artists] Euphoria 2CD. Near-flawless!

[A2] "Late at Night" is the least commercial track on this 3-song EP, but perfect for late-night driving; no it ain't MODEL 500, but still a "thinking" friendly sound, maybe purely music for the sake of "just music".

Thanks to Flash Traxx for having the vision to take a chance on this band and release their records on vinyl. You may not think these are the best tracks by the band, but in Y2K, Flash Traxx's economic or budgetary concerns may have been what would sell well for them at Tower (r.i.p.) Records' domestic outlets.
