I own a low matrix copy (1-A-2/1) of the regular Japanese pressing and it's fantastic: Dead quiet vinyl and a real quality pressing. This might be the best version out there. If you like this album and have a chance to get the original Japan pressing, I ... See full review

Made in Italy in the first part of the 1980's. 300 red ones and up to 50 green ones were made. Not a real TMOQ product.

Made in Italy in the first part of the 1980's, just like the 300 red copies. Not a real TMOQ product.

Found a 1C 192-04 707/8/9 copy (the ones I previously reported all came from 'Y' ending boxes), which has an alternate matrix for side 6: STCH 6 639 Z 10 #4

Most standard copies for this album will have the following matrix markings:

Matrix / Runout (Side A, stamped): 04 707 A - 1
Matrix / Runout (Side B, stamped): 04 707 B - 1
Matrix / Runout (Side C, stamped): 04 708 A - 1

The order of TMOQ pressings went something like this:

1st pressing: '1 / 2' labels without outside border, likely without insert, stamped title only - released in a number of vinyl colors around September 1971 for 71024 (orange, lime & standard green ... See full review

It should be noted that only the first print run came with a laminated cover and only those copies are worth a premium over the matte, non-laminated ones.

It's a pirate of the officially released "Empty Skies" album (which wasn't released in the US at that time - ca. 1971) and as such is much worse than a bootleg.

The insert I added an image of seems to be quite rare (perhaps it only came with the promo copies).

Probably the rarest version of ATMP from the major record pressing countries out there.

Early 1980's RE. Back of obi mentions "arranged by David Paich" and the biography on the Japanese insert goes up to 1980. Uses the beautiful orange & cream with black writing CBS/Sony label.

No insert or stamped cover? It was reissued together with the Broadcast album (71019). The matrix numbers would be JH 106 / JH 107.

If you look at Deram's SDL 1 up to SDL 8 releases, not a single one of the brown & white labels is pictured with a black 'stereo' box; they all look like this one shown here.

The standard red & plum UK Atlantic labels in 1969 had the artist & album title in the upper half and the producer credit, if any was given, at the very bottom, so, I do believe that this label version came first.

In the Japanese vinyl selling & buying business, it's all about the obi. To take this album as an example, since I own an obi-less copy: disk union in Tokyo will pay maybe Y 3,000 for an excellent condition copy without the obi but offered Y 180,000 in ... See full review

I was able to compare this version with a black & white obi version at RECOfan in Tokyo and the colors are definitely more vivid on the b&w one. So, this is not just a case of changing obi's but different print runs for the covers as well.
