Totally different than most of what you hear in the "Ambient, Deep Techno" style on this label or any other label that uses that description in my opinion. I don't think his earlier stuff sounds like this. And this is far removed from any type of...

This was sort of my first, *real* introduction to electronic music, and especially in this type of style. Still put this on from time to time when in the mood, it's got a lot of memories to it. Good record. ♥

If you like the above listed styles for this record, Industrial, Rhythmic Noise and Techno, you'll love this. It's pretty brutal sounding but it'll grow on you if you give it a chance. It's nice to hear something like this when so much electronic...

Steve Roach releases a lot of music so it's tough to decide on what to get. This one is a great choice though, especially for the folks that enjoy his more analog sequencer-heavy type of records. It's long-form, with two of the tracks a little over 20...

I don't feel like this record is too much of a divergence in sound from what you get with Deepchord *but* there's something about the first track (Immersion I) that might make it my personal favorite......it seems to have a better blend of ambient...

Pretty cool sounding record....it sounds like what I had hoped Mouse On Mars would eventually evolve into. :)

First 3 tracks are literally beat-less and mostly ambient style. I prefer Triple Point era so disappointed. Still, if you are looking for more ambient stuff I'm sure you'll be pleased as Loscil almost always puts out good quality music....just a guess...

Too many tracks with someone singing on them for my liking...I keep going back to "R Plus Seven" and some of the earlier stuff...

this dude is for real good...one of the greatest in my opinion...yeah, everybody got opinions but mines usually always "spot on"...above average type of stuff...so soulful and rare to see this in a lifetime....we talking Elliott Smith level of...

A mellower "Green Mind"? Now that's something I could get into, will check this out.

I'm not a fan of vocals and electronic music so obviously, I don't care for those on the first track. But the second track, Expre'act, is where it's at for me on this EP. It would be nice to see the guy do an entire EP in that direction *everytime*....

EP7 is better heard as EP7.1 and EP7.2 and not as a whole. I prefer 7.2 as it seems to hint more towards Confield than their earlier stuff. EP7.2 would be almost perfect if it weren't for Maphive 6.1. This is more of a personal thing though...the...

If you liked some of the tracks off of Drawn With Shadow Pens (I couldn't "get into" all of them), you'll like Sueda much better. Way less noisy sounding and the sounds are more focused IMO. DXMS is the stand-out track for me but all of them are worth...

mesh cinereaL is currently one of my favorites off this record. Was sort of "meh" when this first came out but I've slowly learned to give their records at least a *month* (normal shit might take a day...) before you write it off as *meh*. :) Also, if...

Had been listening since Confield so was sort of surprised when I hear this one. But after Untilted and Quaristice, this was sort of a welcome break from the manic, aleatoric drum machining of the last several years. I love their percussion, it's a...

Conal doesn't get much attention it seems but it's an excellent release by Con, in my opinion. With only two tracks and both around 20 minutes, not many artists can keep it interesting for that long...Conal does though...(((spaced-out))) Con...

Still miss Con. I agree with the post below, many would love to see some of those private releases given a proper release by someone very close. I think that would great to see. From 00/014 onward...it's only like 800 releases, right?...

Wow....to be able to own a copy of this one...

In my opinion, one of NYZ's stronger releases. The other two are NTE GDN and SHFTR FRQ. You really cannot go wrong with any of those. CSR Shaperz has two longer tracks that go into more of drone-like territory but it's not really drone...it's a bit...

Super-duper tripped out, left-field stuff...pick this up if you like latest Autechre....it doesn't sound like them at all but has the same adventurous spirit.

My personal favorite out of these so far. Way too busy listening to NTS Sessions to give all of these time though....maybe one day. :D

It was for me as well, my man. Memories from "Get Here And Stay" to "Weekends Of Sound" are huge for me....so damn good. Better to burn out than fade away, I think....happy to catch those records when they came out.

Oh man, this is a good one. 3 Phase is an excellent choice to start the record off. Those digital-like oscillator type of sounds that come in and out the track are some of my favorite sounds on the record...almost granular sounding. He continues...

Love Autechre...but most would agree they can *sometimes* keep a track going on for a bit longer than you'd like, it's just something you deal with..So, I decided to go with the digital (.WAV) version on this release. After hearing it played live on...

Definitely my favorite full-length by Yves. Except for track #1 (I can't get into it, it could be my aversion to any vocals though..) this *double* LP is perfect and easily the best (electronic ) record of the year. I'm not in to describing tracks but...

For me personally, this is huge mis-step. This sounds very different than the ones I've listened to ("Appropriation Stories" & "Under A Single Banner" and a couple of other EP's). If I hadn't known this was him, I would have sworn this was a record by...

Excellent EP. These tracks almost feel like they could have been on his 2016 full-length. Perfect introduction to this music project as you only have to commit to 3 songs.

My personal favorite...if you are looking for a place to start, it's here. :)

If you skip tracks #1 and #5, this is a solid record. Those two bring it down a bit, *in my opinion*. But overall, this is a very good record. If you like this, then you'll love Appropriation Stories. It's my personal favorite, not a bad track on there.

Fairly new to Surgeon...I h ad bought a few Surgeon records over the last year (Force + Form, Balance & Basictonalvocabulary) and haven't like *any of them*, just didn't get into them *at all*. But this one does it for me. Every single track on here...

This is one of my favorites by him so far. The mixing and/or mastering on it is odd but in a good way. It seems to have very little "low-end", lots of high-end or treble....I love it....sounds really good played loud on a home speakers. :p

I agree, I do like this side of him. I can't get into B1 because of personal preference (I hate any type of vocals, sung or spoken) but this is one of my favorites...really good!

Didn't find out about this until, I dunno, around 2016 or 2017? Regardless, this EP is one of my favorites. I can't really say why other than it has a very experiment type of feel as far as techno. It's just weird, but in a very *good* way. A1...

Plays The Writings of Commander X is my favorite but this one, The Raider, is not far behind. Way more rowdier than Commander X but not purposely noisy, strikes a balance between harsh and ambient which is tough. This is a good one, light it up.

Excellent, music duo. Found them around 2001 (Confield) and have been a listener/fan every since. Chiastic Slide, Utilted, Quaterstice, Move Of Ten, Exai, el seq are probably my most played at the moment. Only criticism I have is there tracks go on...

The long decay on the kick drum is always a bad idea unless you are playing to a live audience to get them dancing, then again in a live setting people are just partying so you can pretty much play anything and they'll like it. :/ ...but after 2-3...

Free-improv type of stuff. If you like Ishq *and* don't mind the noisiness of someone like Aaron Dilloway or the Demons then you'll love a lot of these releases. Decimus 7 is where I'd start, it's a pretty solid release.

Currently one of my heavier played records. Besides the spoken word tracks (I HATE all of them, makes me cringe to hear them), this is excellent music. Put the headphones on and enjoy. Just avoid the "Kinematic Optics" track at all cost. :D

I agree, you really need to be someone that has listened to plenty of his earlier records. I really dislike the 2 track only because it has vocals and I'm not a fan of vocals, except when if they heavily disguised w/ a vocoder (Dig It). The other two...

Not sure why some fans do not like this record. Currently, FM Delight is my favorite track. Great synthesizer sounds and excellent list: Roland D-50, DX7, Fairlight, etc! I remember what I was listening to in '88 and it wasn't this....BUT, I wish it...

Good comment/review on this. I totally agree, it caught me off-guard as I was expecting more long-form drone tracks. This one has turned out to be my favorite, probably because I enjoy his Possible Planets release, which is similar to this in ways....
