Private pressing on the band's Arcturus imprint, issued in an embossed white sleeve with poster insert. This group was made up of an international cast including former members of the educational group Piccadilly Circus, Sunforest, plus Briazilian... See full review

This track uses the music from "A Friend of Mine" by Fields (3) - Fields - written by Graham Field. Odd that it's credited to Pierre Bachelet.
Dr. Z (3) - Three Parts To My Soul (Spiritus, Manes Et Umbra)

Dr. Z was led by a guy (appropriately) named Keith Keyes and is one of quite a few guitar-less trios to emerge in the prog era. The title of their sole LP is Platonic, the lyrical content leans towards the black, dark aspects of philosophy/religion,... See full review

No, it's just a really, really terrible album with a terrible sleeve!
Flaming Star

Flaming Star were a Syd Barrett-tribute act who (may have) released a few albums on their own cassette label Madcap Tapes in the mid-70s. There's also a cassette release by guitarist John Steele and a various artists thing called Madcap Special: No... See full review

Is this a fictional/fake band? It feels, looks and sounds so wrong.

Rainbird - Maiden Flight
posted a review of Rainbird - Maiden Flight. about 1 month ago
The album kicks off with a lengthy flute/organ instrumental which isn't better than Iron Butterfly. The rest of the LP is in firm Moody Blues territory, with self-serious vocal delivery and pretentious lyrics, but without the appeal of hi-fi sonics or... See full review

Comparable to early Roy Harper, but certainly not the 'best of' Roy. No, this is pretty formless acoustic blues that sounds like every busker at every tube station in 1970. The average going rate of around £150 is proof that the '99 copies' tag is... See full review
Axe (9) - Axe
posted a review of Axe (9) - Axe. about 1 month ago
There's a fair amount of confusion here due to the initial (re)issues of this album appearing on the notoriously sketchy Kissing Spell in adulterated form. The original discs/tapes (apparently from 1970) were famously tampered with in post-production by... See full review

This first single features Phil Lynott on vocals, after which he was let go from the band. Oops!

I was going to say the exact opposite - lovely packaging, but the LP is mastered so quietly as to barely register.

Awesome primitive cover band, possibly from Korea, barely holding it together most of the time. Severe language barrier setback. "Paint In Black" (sic) is nearly definitive in all its bizarro wrong glory.

Interestingly (maybe), this was arranged by Mike Leander who did the arrangement on the Beatles original, and the two are notably dissimilar.
