Street Life (Return Of The Life Remix), a K Def remix, the instrumental, used as a talkover on the Westwood show and totally sums up the quality that was the early 90's.

Genre 'Electronic'?? Are you serious? hahahaha... the lengths people go to avoid 'HIP HOP'.

GAAAWDAAAAAAMN! Straight sick dope! Was jaw dropped from the first 5 seconds of the opening, and then that standard maintained throughout. Really special this.

Finallly got round to picking a copy of this up, absolutely brilliant. Real orthodox East Coast proper, done SO well.

haha... totally disagree with your comments about the Funky Drummer Bonus Break being unnecessary! Was used at PE's UK concert by Term X and then appeared tacked onto the end of Rebel Without A Pause on a Nation Of Millions lp... AWESOME.

Where did they get this version from? Sounds great! Did it come out as a 12"?

I always thought this was Hip Hop? I see from the experts in discogs this fell under the 'electronic' genre in 1985. Never heard of that as a genre back then, just me I suppose. Learn something everyday. Thank-you discogs gurus.

I'll House You? And then this... two truly terrible records made by an otherwise all classic material group. Unless there's some other garbage they did that I don't know about?

A much better version of Shy D's Rapp Will Never Die, mainly because the rapper sounds like a man and not a chipmunk. Also the recreated beats and scratches more dope than the original too.

I have tried really hard to like this album but after repeated listening I just can't. Such a mediocre MC at best, throw away terrible production. Sorry, I've been into hip hop since day one and I will never understand what the appeal is. My observation ... See full review

Mate. This was not the first 'double' rap album ever. Err there were 100's before this. Don't know what you're on about here.

The style is definitely 'Electronic' but it never fell under the 'Genre' of 'Electronic'. It was under the genre of HIP HOP when it was released. You didn't get the new wave new romantic crowd back then checking for this.

Bought this lp on the strength of the Mother We Share which I heard on Horizon 2... massive disappointment. Awful lp that draws more on the Vengaboys and Erasure for influence than Depeche Mode etc. Still like The Mother We Share but that's it.

Not house music at all this, don't get why this is lumped in with that dreadful genre just because Todd Terry and Kenny Dope did this. Straight up Hip Hop Freestyle instrumental classic. Both Kenny Dope and Todd Terry started off in hip hop.

What is 'hip house' about this? Hip House is house music with rapping on it. Instrumentally this is the purest hip hop. And there is rapping on it. Really, what planet are people on when they define stuff from the realms of cloud cuckoo land?
