It's great too that Richard/Warp have done a cassette run of this full stop - and for once it's an Aphex tape that doesn't require remortgaging your house to get hold of it!

Agree probable release in '98. I'd been on the lookout for any version of the album, and came across this at a record fair in October of that year. Figured it would fill the gap until Jeepster did an official reissue, and didn't sound too bad IIRC.

Highly recommended to any fellow Erased Tapes fans, especially if you love Nils Frahm's Felt - Arnold Kasar 'prepared' Roedelius' piano in the same way here.

The other ECM albums advertised on that inner/insert definitely make this a mid-80s repress rather than a 1983 original - can anyone date it accurately?

2x cassette version exists: I remember my father used to have it. Tape 1 had the same cover as the LP, Tape 2 used the LP's rear photograph. The four sides of the tapes were the same as the four sides of the LPs, therefore Tape 1 was approx 45 min and ... See full review

Anyone else a fellow Whitehouse fan who always wondered about that Spanish phrase on the labels of the Come Organisation LPs, so you googled it and are now thinking "aaah riiight, that's where he got it from!"

Does anyone know if this version still had the original typewritten-style labels on the LP, or 'Cara' labels? Would love to see pics of the LP, if anyone with the 'Monster' cover album would be willing to share.

Such a disappointing mix of 'Registered Nurse' compared to the one on Various - Anthology 1 released by Susan Lawly! The loops of Hawaiian (or cod-Hawaiian) music at the very start are missing, the voices are all slathered in reverb, and about halfway through it ... See full review

I concur with first para - have just purchased a copy of Psilotripitaka through discogs, and although every disc is very bronzed, the playing sides of the discs have obviously been very well cared for, virtually as-new, and I was able to get a flawless ... See full review

Edited my previous comment now that I've had a chance to listen to the full Rampton LP. Now I realise 2 things: 'The Prats' is meant to sound recorded backwards; and 'Iron Man' on the LP = 'The Trenches' on the Anthology. Best surprise of all though, ... See full review

Question for anyone who has this LP - which track was designated as the 'A' side, and which was the 'B' side (eg the longer, Stapleton-led track vs. the shorter, Bennett-led track)? Just curious.

I'd imagine WB just wanted to present what he considered to be the best tracks from this era. Can't be for reasons of space, as Anthology Disc 1 is only an hour long.

Couldn't resist adding my two cents as a blank-cassette nerd: there's no way the tape in these scans is a 1982 vintage; it wasn't around until at least '85.

Early issues of the LP have the artist & title in a darker black box than the rest of the background. Susan Lawly offered replacement sleeves, with fully black background, to anyone who had the first release.
