Japan/David Sylvian, Ultravox, Depeche Mode, New Order & Roger Taylor completist. Not interested in collecting every single pressing but certainly interested in collecting all tracks & versions of tracks by these artists.

Mine was OK: in a poly lined inner (as they said it would be at the time) but the record is fine.

No - what I mean is that the record has arrived.

Anyone buying this for the 'hi-resolution' audio advertised within the Blu Ray beware: it is 16bit, 48khz, barely better than CD quality. Also it is quite highly compressed and, unsurprisingly, sounds pretty much the same as the CD. Wasted ... See full review

Maybe it's worth reading the official explanation about the sound since it may resolve some of the accusations.

And to whoever said 'it's because of it being pressed from digital files' you clearly have no understanding of how sound behaves as either ... See full review

Oh FFS! I actually prefer my recording at 45rpm! It sounds fine - just a slightly higher pitch.....

I think it is safe to say that this vinyl pressing of 'No. 1 In Heaven' is not very good. It isn't brickwalled like the Repertoire CDS and has a decent dynamic range but a) the bass is smothering everything & b) the snare drums are a mush. Sloppy ... See full review

Same here though also bad on the A side. Unfortunately noticed too late to return it so will probably seek out an alternative pressing or the SACD. Such a shame.

OK. Got mine today. Haven't opened it yet but have looked at the pics uploaded. Am I the only one missing the point of the 'physical component'?

Well it's another version so it deserves a discogs entry and, if the pressing is bad then it should affect sales!

Whilst it's great that in addition to the 5.1 mixes, a hi-res stereo copy of this album and 'Stupid Things That Mean The World" are included on the DVD at "24bit/96khz", the music has actually been limited to 44.1khz. What a flaming pointless thing to ... See full review

It's a picture disc - they aren't known for their sonic excellence. Thinner plastic = more compressed sound.

Have replaced it twice already. The last one is quieter but it still has the same noises at the same points suggesting that the plates were crap.

Agree about the Rhino DM releases too - the Mute releases from a few years ago were much better.

The Slow Club was a band pulled together by former Japan guitarist Robert Dean in Australia in the late 1980s. The band's only album release "World Of Wonders" (1990) only benefited from a release in Australia & Germany and the combination of it being a ... See full review

75 records were supposed to be provided to Steve Jansen & Richard Barbieri for signing & distribution themselves. Unfortunately, due to an unspecified 'mix-up', this did not happen & all 250 copies were sold by Kinetic Records.

On this pressing the final track, The Tenant, is cut off a second or so before the end.

Otherwise, a nice pressing with a lovely feel to the sleeve.
