The 2018 remastered version of this great album is garbage. The remastering is poor, reducing the dynamic range to increase the loudness of the music (DR meter average 14 for the original release, 8 for the remaster). The bonus track is also quite bad, ... See full review

Whenever I see a new "remastered" release I anticipate that it will probably be inferior. I suspect that the loudness of the music was probably increased by compressing it. That's how it usually seems to go, and this release of Multimoods is no ... See full review

Magical album. Pete Ardron seemlessly mixes electronics with instrumentation. The result is rich, lively, delicate, glittering, and emotive. Each track has a different story to tell. Goddess has aged well and stands out as a gem.

The remastering job done on this music was absolutely terrible. Volume was cranked up way higher than it ought to have been. There is heavy clipping throughout all the tracks. The loudness war strikes again.

I can't say I ever liked this guy's music much or found it memorable until I heard his first 3 albums which were only released on cassette aside from a limited reissue of CDrs. Those albums contain a lot of really great tracks that sound ahead of their ... See full review

Voodoo Chronometer & Oracle are early versions and quite different than the tracks with the same names later appearing on Crystal Oscillations.

Ultimae's new black-and-white cover designs are bland and ugly. The original digipak looked much nicer. Although this is remastered, the differences are almost too subtle to perceive.

So it's okay to lie to your customers as long is it's for charity? That is a terrible argument. Especially when you are skimming money off the top (only whatever is left after your paycheque is taken out makes it to charity).

Two years ago, Blood Music reissued the first 3 Carbon Based Lifeform albums marketed as limited editions of 2000 copies worldwide. These albums sold out and now they're reprinting them. They are no longer referenced as limited edition. Given the ... See full review

Another bland album with soft tracks that go nowhere. Martin Nonstatic's two albums prior to joining Ultimae Records were actually more interesting in my opinion.

Noisy and overrated. The original mix of Antidote (on Various - Nataraja 1) is more interesting.

This release is practically unlistenable. The music is heavily distorted like there was a problem that occurred in the recording process. Perhaps that's why the release was cancelled. It's unfortunate as there are a couple tracks here that were never ... See full review

Dull, boring, vapid, and uninteresting. I wouldn't recommend this at all. Eat Static fans must have low standards to call this a masterpiece.

Disagree. "Deep Space" is a great album. "Solar Echos" = bad remastering (not remixing) of the tracks from "Deep Space" plus 4 extra tracks which are inferior.
posted a review of Nigel Stanford - Solar Echoes. 6 months ago
The remastering job done on these tracks is terrible. In their original release on John Stanford - Deep Space, they were soft, smooth, haunting, hypnotic, and incredible. Here they are louder, harsher, the drums were given unwarranted prominence in the foreground, and the ... See full review

Track 2-5 is an unfortunate blemish on this release. It's pretty sad that neither anyone from DAT Records nor Etnica themselves could tell that this track wasn't produced by Etnica. Yes, DAT tapes can be mislabeled - which is why you ought to verify ... See full review

From a mastering perspective, this is the only DAT Records release which does not compress the dynamic range to increase the loudness of the music.

Unfortunately Sanjiva switched to minimal ambient drone music, got rid of the acid and beats, and added in some new age-y instruments. He now has 20+ newer, rather boring albums that nobody has bothered entering on Discogs. Another sad case of quantity ... See full review

The best track here is Dagar. Dagar means "days" in Old Norse and the track opens with the words of the first stanza of the first poem (Völuspá) in the Poetic Edda (translated to English). The rest of the album is pretty mediocre.
