Hey lame. Lyrics by Jim Morrison? I didn't know that. Thanks for this hint!

Aphelion is a nice intro track. It reminds me a bit of Kraftwerk's "Wir sind die Roboter", but only a bit, and in a nice way. It's deep, electro and the track stays very down to earth.
posted a review of Jerome Sydenham - Disciple Trail. over 3 years ago
It took a while till I discovered this Jerome Sydenham record. Apotek records are much harder than Ibadan. This is pure techno. "Disciple Trail" is deep pounding techno. It's somehow tribal. It's got a steady marching swinging beat. It keeps marching on ... See full review

Great peak song for boling dance floor. The synth/piano reminds me of Inner City's all time classic "Good Life". Nice try and it works fine.

Very smooth ambient track. This is the beatless version. Last track after a rough night.

Very, very oldschool. But it sounds still nice. Even when I listen to it almost 20 years later.
posted a review of Tony Allen - Ole. over 4 years ago
A very nice piece of rhythm. Some percussions, some horns and some bells. There's not more needed. Great remix work.

What a great release. Fangtango lets you dream of 1001 nights. It's got a simple but steady beat and some strings. The strings will stay in your mind till you got this track as a pure vinyl at home. For me actually it worked this way. It's a very mellow ... See full review

Can't believe it how deep this track goes. This is sick!

For me B2 is the real monster on this one. Deep, down and very dirty. It stays calm. Perfect.
posted a review of Len Faki Vs Roman Poncet - Asua. over 4 years ago
Whenever Len Faki plays somewhere around, we're there. When he releases a new record, I buy. His records are never over loaded with a bunch of all kinda shit. It's got drum, bass, synth and not too much more. Like I prefer the Stones just with guitar, ... See full review

Big warehouse techno made by Exercise One. Ice Age has got a metallic electro siren vibe in it. Only for the advanced tech head!

If you like this style. Go to Cocoon at Amnesia. Sven plays the terrace and it's 5.30 am. There's no better place for Confessions Of A Wanted Man. Call me and I'll be there.

Can you think of a better techno track than this fckdpd Julian Jeweil Remix? I can't. There are tracks, when I listen to them, I think, damn there can't be anything better right now. Anyway. I played it many times. People love it. Play this and the floor ... See full review

B1 will be great for a tech floor intro, Straight and easy marching, without any big show in it. No big breaks, just food for the feet.
A Hmmm. the beat is nice, but it's got something like a small brother of a 303 in it. I'd go to the bar for a drink, ... See full review

If you like Drumcode, you'll fall in love with Joseph Capriati. A1's got a steady forward marching beat. But no metallic sounds at all. Not a peak record, but the perfect one right after the peak.
posted a review of Petar Dundov - Origins / Rising. over 4 years ago
Petar Dundov is one of my favourite producers. He's songs are nice and warm arranged and they sound like Petar Dundov. Not too many synths, just right. And there's always a straight forward but not too hard beat. I'd go miles to see him play live.

Rumors nights at Beach House, Ibiza are legendary. It's Guy Gerbers night, he invites some guests and they play right on the beach. It's a free party where everyone dances in the sand. For me a reason to collect every single Rumors record. Praise them, ... See full review

A1: Thanks for this one Vangelis! I can see a tribe of Sioux singing and dancing round a stake. Very nice sample used.
A2: Love those percussions. Tech beat with some tribal sounds. Great! Too bad it only takes 5'48.
B1: Don't get it. Hard to understand ... See full review

A1: A Gary Beck track remixed by Adam Beyer. In my opinion it doesn't exactly sound like that. It feels like watching Real-Barca but only the U18 is playing. Certainly it's not one of Adams best remixes. But it will work in a set. But it's not a peak ... See full review

A1 doesn't really sound like a tipical Philip Bader tune. It's got for shure a catchy housy attitude. Everybody will start to freak out when you drop this one. It' catchy, pushing the floor but it never sounds cheap. Good choice.
B1 is not my cup of tea. ... See full review

A1's got a sample from "Pump up the jam". Not shure if we really wanna hear this pump it up thing again. We can argue about the vocals in this track. But for shure the rest works well. It's not a Berghain track, but if the floor is boiliing, this track ... See full review

Somehow I expected a bit more from this track. It's ok, but nothing special. Fits good into a intro set. Not an intro for a cheesy house floor or some EDM. But on a tech house or techno floor this track will work. Looking forward to play it.

This is a real techno BRETT. You smash this one on a techno floor and it will rock for shure. It's pure techno. I prefer the B-side.

Nice record for an intro on a techno floor. It pushes a bit, but not strong. And it will keep the feet moving. Steady I guess.

I bought it because of the B side. Canvas is a real hot floorburner. Great track, will rock every damn floor. Timmo could be the small brother of Alan Fitzpatrick. Hope to see more!

I always played B1 and thought this was the A-side. Never mind. This track has so much funk. No way to stand still, while this record is playing. A-side is a bit more tekkie, but as well ok.

The Adam Beyer mix is a hell of track. Perfect beat. It rolls and makes you move your feet. A straight beat, nice hi-hat, nice percussion, and not much else. KISS.

Elektrostatik is pure acid. If you're in love with the 303, this is your track. Produced 20 years ago. Just stunning. Imagine looking back 20 years in 1988. A track from 1968 would have sounded like Doors, Stones, Chuck Berry or whatever. Looking now ... See full review

B1 played at -4 is just right now. Steady going techno. Sounds like a Kanzleramt release. Few synths, dry beat and a nice hi-hat. Great german finish. A2 is a bit smoother and fits better in a record case in 2013.
posted a comment on Kevin Saunderson - History Elevate 1. over 5 years ago
The Carl Craig edit is kinda remember-disco-but-now-we-love-techno record. Bassline has got a touch of Donna Summer's "I feel love". Dry beat, catchy disco vocal. For those folks who like vocal house, it may work ok.
posted a comment on Kiko - Tragolta E.P.. over 5 years ago
I must admit I don't remember when or why I bought this record. Almost never listened to it like now. A1 sounds way for too elektro to me. A2 is easy going dub house minimal track. B1 is not my piece of chocolate cake.

It sounds a bit like the records released on Kanzleramt did. A dry beat with repeating synth. No extras, no vocals. Just a nice progressive record produced in the beginning of the century. Not more.
