Check out ELECTRO DISCO WAVE - the latest mix I posted to Discogs!
I started DJing in 1990 inspired by '80s synth music, early rave techno, new beat and belgian EBM.
DJed at a college radio show at WRIU in Rhode Island from 1990-1997, which was one of the most fun times of my life. Lots of late nights alone in a darkened studio playing music to an invisible audience.
I've had a few residencies around New England over the years, but nowadays I mainly just do occasional guest spots here and there at gigs where I think people will want to hear something a little different.

Long overdue for a vinyl reissue! RIP Nicholas Ker, died in 2021

Thanks to Dais for another reissue done right! Beautiful textured sleeve with metallic silver printing and dead quiet vinyl. Other labels should take note that this is how you show you actually care about the music. Very happy to have this on vinyl at last.

Thank you very much ! I've been wondering for years!

The first time Human League "4JG" has ever been available on vinyl!

Happy to be able to have this on vinyl at last but why must the cover art always be so cringey?
|

Keep in mind that these tracks were remastered from a nearly 30 year old cassette, so I imagine there will be some noise

Yep, if a CD was made in the early 90s and t says "Made in the UK by PDO" it will most likely suffer from CD rot. Since all of the CD singles were probably made in the UK by PDO, you've have to get lucky and find one that was stored separately from...

I was at this show and at according to something that Brendan said at the end, Lisa was sick but carried on. This is why this show has fewer songs than other shows on the tour.

New pressing sounds good and clear! Had a couple of pops on first playthrough which was caused by little bits from the pressing process that I could remove with a fingernail. Nice to have this on vinyl at last!

Agreed, I was pretty disappointed to hear that the mix of the title track on the reissue is different from the one I'm familiar with. It sounds like they double timed the kickdrum, essentially making this about 176 bpm.

My copy seems to have quite a bit of surface noise that you can really hear between tracks. Anyone else notice this?

Sounded fine to me. I have no complaints about audio quality on my copy.

Does anyone know what the mystery Unknown Artist track is?
|

Yes mine is too. I suspect all the copies are like this

When holding this, and listening to it, you get the sense that you are in possession of something very important. Vinyl On Demand has done an excellent job with all of the Horology boxed sets, but this third volume resonates with me the most. The OCD...

No that's really my only gripe about the release is that there is no information about the music and artists other than a track listing. No liner notes of any kind. Kind of a shame since these artists are well WELL under the radar, it would've been...

Very low sound level on this pressing, and had to clean the record before playing it as there were bits of vinyl all over it.

So happy that these classic albums were officially re-released so people who want to hear them don't have to pay hundreds of dollars per LP, and the artists can see some return for their work! They sound great, the pressings are good and loud. Don't...

My reissue of Secrets of the Beehive has the same problem. Tons of groove noise and audible pressing artifacts. Pretty disappointing for a $35 single LP.

The remastering sounds great and the artwork is beautiful, unfortunately the record itself appears to be riddled with surface noise and pressing artifacts, which is really disappointing considering how open and minimal the music is. As soon as i...

Be careful with this one. I think the record has a tendancy to warp because of the button included in the sleeve.

This seems to be a very quiet pressing. In order to hear it well it needs to be turned up pretty loud which in turn brings the noise floor up to a noticeable level. As others have mentioned, this is tolerable during louder passages, but quite...

Be careful mixing with this one! For a track that presumably was made for the dance floor, the tempo on the dance remix drifts all over the place.

I had the same problem with my copy I think the enclosed pin caused the record to warp over time before it was sold.

Bought this new and sealed and it had pops and crackles straight away, including a pop that made the needle jump slightly out of groove during the start of Red Zebra.

I bought it on their tour. Mine is 12 of 53.

This compilation has a couple good songs (Joy of Radiation, Cool Runnings) and a bunch of very forgettable songs. Unfortunately almost every song suffers from a very dated remix/editing technique where certain sections of the songs are looped ad...

Not good. This has that typical "Eye Of The Tiger" 80's rock soundtrack feel to it. Don't buy this expecting the usual Moroder wizardry; it's just not here.

A great album for late night driving.

My favorite release on Nu Groove, this is classic acid house. "Nervous Acid" is perfectly named; dark, minimal, but with a strong sense of groove. This is a must have!

This release was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with CD packaging. This is supposed to be 3 CDs in a stack, separated by 3 other "blank" CDs with a layer of felt glued on them. Unfortunately when I bought this, the CDs that were supposed...

Probably my favorite record in the Acardipane/PCP catalog, this record defies categorization! A dark, brooding, subdued, almost downtempo (126 bpm is downtempo for PCP!) tune, this would be equally at home in an electro set, an industrial set as well...

Side A is a decent 4/4 techy number, but the real gem here is "Break Out", a storming electro burner with evil synth washes and vocodered madness!

Not sure what Dirk Ivens was thinking here, but this is just bloody awful! Poorly produced EBM with sometimes totally dry screaming vocals and monotone 32nd note basslines. Probably the weakest release in the Body Records catalog.

The track on the B-side of this is called "Light Bringer". It received an "official" name when both tracks on this 12" showed up on the PCP PHUTURE compilation.
Unless you're a completist, you're better off tracking down the PHUTURE compilation,... See full review |

This album was origianlly recorded in 1989, at a time when many of the production methods and musical styles on this album had not yet been explored.
But due to a conflict between the 2 record labels who were initally going to release it, it did... See full review |

This version of the single, which features the original lyrics to "Physical" by Olivia-Newton John, was never officially released, but several copies (with white sleeve and labels) managed to "sneak" out.
