I love records in mono and Psych records. Just got this lp for super cheap! With a navy exchange price tag (guy I got it from was in the service) I have to agree this is the best version I have heard. Also the 2016 is weak compared to this.

Some great musicians on this album, including Boz Scaggs of solo fame and Lonnie Turner who joined Tommy Tutone and did the song 867-5309 / Jenny. Lonnie Turner returned to the band in 1973 but other than that, the other members were all gone by 1970....

A great sounding album, and a great dedicated Mono Mix. When they were mixing the song "Nobody But Me", Ting wanted the longer version with the first chord. But Capitol wanted the shorter version that started with the feedback. Ting got his version...

I haven't heard of any other place using the non phased version. The U.K. record company requested a non phased version because they thought phasing was overused at that time. I don't think any other place requested a non phased copy. I asked Stewkey...

I almost bought this record back in about 2016-7. I went to Barnes and Noble and bought my first record. They had a stereo copy and a mono copy. Mono was $1 more than the stereo. So in my young mind I had no idea that mono was the best way to hear...

Just talked to Stewkey, He's a great guy. I told him I went to a record store and saw this for $120. He laughed and said he would have to tell Thom. He said that Todd never asked them to release this box set. Please don't waste your money on this set....

Good luck finding a mono copy! It took me a while to find one. Then I got mine signed by Ting and Mel. Also the album has a dedicated mono mix.

I asked Bill Bartlett and Ivan Browne if they think green tambourine was inspired by a small faces song. Since the songs writers have died, we may never have the best answer but Ivan and Bill have never heard the small faces song and they don't think...

The reason this sounds like the Ram Jam version is because Bill Bartlett took this old recording and edited it and released it through Ram Jam. so this means Ram Jam does not play on Black Betty. Starstruck recorded Black Betty.

I've heard the mono promo copy and I can tell, sadly it's a fold down. I don't know if this stock copy has a real mono mix but I doubt it.
