Only really bought this compilation for the No-Man track 'Turquoise' which is unavailable elsewhere. No-Man have a number of exclusive tracks dotted amongst various comilations (as do a number of Steven WIlson's other projects). It sounds a little dated ... See full review

36 did a stellar job at 'reprocessing' the world of Bass Communion; so much so that I consider this amongst the better releases made by Steven Wilson's ambient alter ego. It certainly plays more like a traditional ambient album with the exception of one ... See full review

Absolutely love Carl's design and his photography. The work he's done for Steven Wilson and associated projects are sublime. He really understands the need for the artwork to convey the qualities of the music within. I love most his work with Bass ... See full review

A truly superb album. Catherine Howe's vocals are a joy to listen to. The album's folkiness is complimented with subtle orchestral arrangements and jazzy embelishments, giving it a pastoral yet grand quality that sounds timeless.

The record comes in a ... See full review

This is a mostly solo acoustic album and many of these songs appeared later in a more polished form in 'KC Rules OK' and 'Bombshell'. Fans who felt both these albums verged on being a little too 'glossy' will find much to enjoy on this one.

Still unsure what to make of this album. Those expecting another album of King Creosote (or Kwaing Creasite) songs will likely be sorely disappointed. This is by a long way KC's most experimental release (that I'm aware of...?) however there's a lot to ... See full review

This has to be one of the most 'metal' non-metal albums in existence. You can certainly hear how this influenced the likes of Opeth several decades later.

Steven Wilson's Ambient alter-ego. His music is more recently delving into drone and 'musique concrète' territory; earlier albums being more traditionally 'ambient'. I certainly prefer the more ambient side to Bass Communion but it's all interesting ... See full review

Love you to shreds is every bit as good as the album it never made it onto (except if you own the cassette version...). Don't pass this by because it's a download release or because it's labelled as 'ambient' or a 'b-side' - it's really fantastic.

It seems to me that the rarity of the unsigned copies is exaggerated whereas the signed copy is seen as the more common. In my experience unsigned copies go on sale much more frequently (between three and 5 times more commonly if I had to guess).
