Very big record down in Brazil apparently. It's strange how that happens with these obscure records, but dope in it's own right.

Are you from Louisville, KY? There seem to be quite a few Louisville artists on HAM-SEM Records, but the label appears to be based out of Los Angeles? I wonder what the connection was.

A monster record. Definitely one of the dopest records and crews to come out of Nashville from that era. Bo-D and Desire hit me up let's talk!

I'm a huge fan of Nashville hip hop from the '80s, but unironically this one is trash. I think I paid $30 for this on eBay a few years back just out of curiosity since there were no clips online (the clips on YouTube are from my copy) but really in my... See full review

Heavy dope use of the Yamaha RX5 drum machine, especially on Don't Miss The Beat.

Decent compilation. Most of the tracks range from okay to really good, but the second-to-last track is the wackest shit I've ever heard in my life (referring to the production/rhyme flow, not the message).

Not a bad 12 inch. I will say I do prefer his previous release (Listen Up on MLT Records) but this one is pretty good too, it really grew on me after a few plays. Sid was definitely one of the very first MCs from Cincinnati to break out and get on a... See full review

Some of the tracks are hit or miss, but the ones that hit are really dope. I wonder whatever happened to Sweetenlo?

My B-side of my vinyl copy seems to have been mastered poorly. The grooves on only the B-side are off-center, causing the entire stylus/cart/tonearm to shift back and forth as the record spins. Because of this, there is a somewhat noticeable pitch... See full review

Really dope compilation album out of Detroit from 1990. The first track is the very first appearance of female rapper Boss before she headed out to LA to persue her solo career. I have ripped the entire album and uploaded it to YouTube.

I have this 12 inch. I suspect the artist (Kenny "Kid Finesse" Taylor) is DJ Kid Finesse who was down with MC Chill from Cleveland. Being that Heat Records was based of Akron, Ohio (not too far from Cleveland) I think this guy may be from Cleveland,... See full review

Very dope record out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Not 100% sure if this is the first rap record from Cincinnati but it's definitely one of the the first few nonetheless. Sound clips and pictures are from my personal copy.

Tracks B1 and B2, at least on my copy, are pressed the reverse order. "Who Can Rock Like This (Instrumental)" is B2 and "Scheming" is B1, even though the center label says otherwise. Dope record.

Most likely the second rap record from the state of Kentucky, the first being "Louisville Rap" on Bridges in 1985.

I think it's safe to assume it's from 1979. The Bridges label was active during the late '70s. One or two of the artists featured had material out around 1979 also.
posted a comment on Executives Only / Darlynn - Pink Gangster / It's Your Occupation. about 1 year ago
The instrumental of "Pink Gangster" is not actually an instrumental, it's just a slightly edited version of the vocal track. Different sound effects/samples being played, but for the most part the same as the vocal.

Hi,
The track you're referring to is "Our Most Requested Record". It is the B side of the Pimpin' Aint Easy single, and it I think it is on most CD releases. Hope this helps.
