Interesting comments and I see your point, yet I prefer this over "Stage" for precisely the opposite reasons. I guess we're all different.

One of those albums you wonder why they hell it wasn't released before. Best official Bowie live LP I've heard to date. Simon House in particular really shines through on this. Stealing him from Hawkwind was a bit shit of Bowie, as Hawkwind were never ... See full review

I do like this review, which pretty much reflects my own stance on the man, except that I loved the White Stripes. We're over in Dead Weather territory here, and off the wall to the extent that he could have been forgiven for creating another alterego ... See full review

Have to agree the cover is a bit shit. I bought the Rare Cult set just for the Peace album... and then they reissued it within 5 years. Vinyl pressing of Electric is crap compared to the original Beggars pressing too.

Yeah and good luck getting a copy of Rare Cult for the same price as this reissue...

Really noisy pressing on first play. All sorts of grime came off and onto the stylus which meant I had to clean this stylus twice each side. Sounded a lot better on second (wet) play after it had been cleaned.
Can't recommend the quality on this one. ... See full review

Really nice edition. Quiet pressing, booklet is full size and printed on very heavy duty paper.

Whoever posted the update about reissue having black rear cover.... what's the track listing? Have they put 3 songs on each side now?

Me too. After Bickers left, I went with Levitation. Much as I love Levitation, I should never have dismissed this sheer masterpiece.

I've always recognised her talent but never liked her recorded work too much as I found it over-produced. I was always looking forward to the day when she would record something like this.

Absolutely agree. Her recorded work to date does not do her talent justice. I think the last album shows some interesting pointers where she's heading and that she's for the long haul.

Probably. All their albums are great but this one was never surpassed. But TAOFA came close.

Quite. And the vision in some of the lyrics about the perception of hindsight now that I'm pushing 50 leaves me amazed every time I dig this record out.

I've had a few copies over the year and the beat up original pressing I've had since 1989 is still the best sounding by far. Dynamic is so much better, even with the surface noise it's had from before I acquired it. Should probably look into getting a ... See full review

Frankly underwhelmed by the audio quality, even though it is a distinct improvement on the original vinyl and CD compilation. Going to buy the original EPs now. Should have done it before.

Nice to have, not nice to listen to. Sound quality is really poor compared to the original EP pressings.

Probably the single best U2 fan club release to date apart from the Marquee record. If only they had kept to this standard instead of the substandard stuff they have fallen back to in 2016 and 2017.

And then they went over to shitty prints useless rereleases of stuff people already had. I ... See full review

Probably the most pointless of the fan club releases to date. Virtually no original content. Was round this time I thought U2 were just after my money.

8 tracks which any self-respecting U2 fan already owned. And poor quality filler.

U2 really should look at how Third Man Records deals with Jack White's archives. And learn. Another disappointing fanclub release.

Another of those STUPID fanclub releases, which is full of material that any self-respecting fan would already own, except for a few exclusives "to seal the deal".

This is probably left over stock from the original release. The gel sleeve version can split quite easily and I would be surprised if there weren't some that got damaged in shipping.

If you have to buy bootlegs... buy the vinyl of this one.

It's a needle drop and it fades out before the end anyway.

This was the first record I ever bought that had artificial vinyl surface noise added, which I guess they'd put on the CD too.

Which put me off for a while.

But it's an outrageously good album.and should have been more successful than it was.
