Avid music collector since the late 80's. Into all kinds of music, trying to forget about boundaries through genres and stuff, but still a clear preference for 'black music', like soul, reggae, R&B, hiphop and New Jack Swing.
New Jack Swing is my main focus, along with hiphop, but I am also a big Jackson family fan and am known as Musical Youth's "#1 fan". Read more on www.njs4ever.com and their forum on www.njs4e.com/forum and the Musical Youth site.
PLEASE NOTE that I don't sell or trade MP3's (nor WAV/FLAC/whatever) from my collection. Collecting music is an art form and getting MP3's is ripping off the artists and all involved in the music industry. Plus all of these items here on Discogs were released once, so if you search well, you will be able to find a copy to add to your own collection!

This album had to grow on me. Probably because I love most of the originals so much. But it's really a more than interesting album and if you can let go of the originals, it's a real reggae gem. Personal faves at the moment of writing are "You Could Meet ...

Then add it :-) Pretty much what Discogs is all about...

Not specifically strange, as "Mix" is a different concept than "Version" ;-)
The "Early Version" seems to be like a demo+. A finished song, but not the definitive version. The "Early Mix" is more like the definitive version, but the final mix would have ... See full review |

Underrated album by an equally underrated band. Though they were never really a 100% pop band, they came with a darker sounding pop/rock album in 1993 and I was immediately impressed by the rawer stuff they produced. I wish they had produced more music ...

That version appears to be the "Steve Thompson Mix", which can also be found on the "Twelve Inch Club", which was released in Japan: http://www.discogs.com/a-ha-Twelve-Inch-Club/master/11501

Agreed a full 100%. So underrated and yes, those songs are absolute diamonds!

Title track "Mag Ik..." is a parody of Touch And Go - Would You...?.

While I do love New Jack Swing and thus the uptempo tracks on their first album, I will agree. This album is great from beginning to end. Brilliant album.

Such a disappointment when I put on this record. I absolutely love the original track from the 'Boomerang' soundtrack, so I was hoping for, maybe even expecting, some nice New Jack Swing mixes on this one. Ben Liebrand did a great job when he remixed ...

I understand what you mean, but they actually are long versions (as in no [single] edits). They do not claim these are extended or 12" versions, so theoratically, they are completely right ;-)

Though I am definitely a fan of Musical Youth, I have to be honest and say this is definitely not their best work. It was performed by them, but musically, it is far from what we know from Musical Youth. These songs are pure pop bliss really. It is nice ...
