There's no need to rehash how on-the-nose this album was when it was released in 1998 or how well it ages (amazingly well, actually) or how creative it is ... all that is a fait accompli. For this particular repress, it is the best I have ever heard... See full review

Superb pressing and dynamics. Mastering also has great separation/soundstaging. Highly recommended, as nothing gets between you and the amazing music.

I played this against a high-res streaming file via Tidal, and the digital file won pretty much hands down. The vinyl mastering is muddy and a bit muffled. I wouldn't say the digital file had stellar mastering (a bit too bright and vocals stood out in... See full review

What an amazing experience these new repressings are. All 7 platters are flat and dead quiet. The mastering is excellent, as I am hearing detail and a breadth of soundstage I haven't heard on my ripped CDs of 76:14 and Pentamerous Metamorphosis. And... See full review

First off, this may be the most smoothly flowing piece of music to come out of 2020 and a welcome listen for all the turbulence in our lives this year. It's both a warm embrace and a call to reflect. As for the recording, the mastering is crisp and... See full review

I have a reasonably nice 1972 repressing of this, and the new Craft Recordings version blows it out of the water. The 1972 version lacks in low end and doesn't have much separation of sound ... a little muddy. On the other hand, the 2018 Craft... See full review

This sound is as clean as a whistle. An all-analogue pressing done right. Zero pops/clicks, flat pressing, amazing mastering and superb dynamics. It might also be one of the best pieces of wax I own when it comes to soundstaging, as each instrument... See full review

I bought these three albums on CD when they were released in the late 90s, and they have always been that magical bridge between dub reggae and techno for me. But hearing them remastered on crisp vinyl has opened up the sound even more, expanded the... See full review

After a thorough cleaning, there still remain some pops and clicks, especially on Side B. Because of the quiet, ambient nature of the recording, it's easier to hear these than on say a rock or techno recording. I would say the pressing is still above... See full review

I own a few versions of Drumming in different formats (Nonesuch 1987 version on CD, So Percussion version from 2005 on CD) and I have heard the "original" performance version released on Superior Viaduct. All those are excellent (including So... See full review

Master source for this is stellar and has great separation and tone. My pressing is warped slightly, though it doesn't seem to affect playback. Otherwise, no pops or clicks and great sound.

Wow this sounds superb. Nice flat, clean pressing (a few pops on side 1 on first play, but cleaned it again on Record Doctor and they are gone). I'm comparing this to the 2009 US repressing - https://www.discogs.com/Big-Star-1-Record/release/9763379 -... See full review

Fantastic pressing, very flat. No pops or clicks. Dynamic range of 2019 remastering is great, and has a fairly wide and deep listening field. Big step up from the digital version I ripped from my 1998 CD version of Tago Mago. Recommended.

Good pressing - clean, no pops/clicks, flat. Mastering is not nearly as good on vinyl. I'd recommend listening to the digital version, as it has more depth and wider soundstage than vinyl. It sounds like they used a lossy digital file (MP3?) for the pressing. See full review
