Profile

Sometimes you will find me selling a few select things.

I do have physical record sales now and again, and although I do try very hard to keep my stock in order, there is a small chance something could have sold before I’ve had the chance to unlist it here. Please be understanding.

More about this mad collector:

I'd guess that I split my Discogs time 25/25/50% between the marketplace, the database, and working on my collection, respectively.

I've been collecting vinyl for as long as I can remember. Some of the records and 45s I recall having earliest were hand-me-downs left behind by older siblings, or items purchased at the local Grocer's, the C&H Market (AKA "Marilyn's"). I've listed the few that I can remember below.

The Marvelettes - Please Mr. Postman,
The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night (Original Motion Picture Sound Track),
Batman- Gorilla City/Scarecrow's Corpse,
Various - Looney Tunes,
Batman Theme / Superman Song,
They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!,
The Who - Live At Leeds,
Various - 20 Monster Hits,
Frijid Pink - Frijid Pink,
The Amazing Spider-Man: Invasion Of The Dragonmen
and...
I'm still trying to recall others.

I love 78s and cassettes as well, and dabble in other media.

I may not actually be a fan of everything you see listed on my collection page (when it's visible). That’s because what you can see on my collection page is actually a mixture of my personal collection and items I may have for sale. I do this for my own cataloguing purposes.

Please feel free to contact me directly or in the forums about any Discogs/music related questions!

About shipping: Aside from working full-time, I spend a great deal of my free time out digging up old vinyl gems for my collection, and selling stuff I no longer want or need, on discogs. (I just saved a nice little Exotica collection from the trash heap!) I also try to balance that with some time for family and friends, so keep in mind it can be difficult for me to get to the post office during the week. Most orders usually ship out the Saturday after payment is received. However, on rare occasions, if it can not be avoided, an item may take up to 10 business days to ship. I assure you I try my best to get everyone's order out in a timely manner and as fast as possible.

* I ship to your verified PayPal addresses only. You can edit your shipping address on paypal by clicking the "Purchase" link. After logging into paypal it will allow you to add an address for this specific order. If you pay for an item and the address you would like it shipped to is not shown on PayPal, your payment, (minus PayPal fees) will be refunded and the order cancelled until an invoice can be created with the correct address.

* I do accept returns! Buyer pays return shipping costs, but shipping costs will be refunded if I have misrepresented the item in any way. Sorry, no partial refunds.

* I do have a minimum order requirement and kindly request that your order total $5.00 or more, plus shipping costs. Orders for one item totaling less than $5.00 will be cancelled. Apologies.

* Please be aware, PayPal charges fees for every transaction. If you order an item, pay for it, and then decide you do not want the item, your payment will be refunded minus the PayPal fees. Please be sure this is the item you want before placing the order or making an offer. Thank you.

* I try to use recycled materials for packaging when possible. Your item will be packed safely and securely.

~INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE:

* Shipping services and costs for most international destinations have been pre-set. If you don't see the shipping options that you prefer offered for your country, that option is not available, or we do not ship to your destination. You are welcome to inquire about prices or shipping options for your country, but we may not be able to accommodate.

* Most items being sent to destinations outside of the U.S. are sent via U.S.P.S First Class International mail, Registered.

* We do now have a new, cheaper international rate for some countries, which is First Class International, tracked with USPS e-Delcon service. If your country is not on the list for USPS e-Delcon tracking you will have to agree to registered mail charges of $16.00 or the order will be cancelled. See here for list of eligible destinations with some exceptions: https://pe.usps.com/text/imm/immc2_022.htm

Warner Bros. Label Configurations

Mono:
1958-62 - Grey label, black WB Shield and black 33 1/3 at bottom outlined in yellow.
1962-66 - Grey label, black WB Shield and black 33 1/3 at bottom outlined in white.
1966-67 - Gold Label, MONAURAL at bottom.

Stereo:
1958-65 - Gold label with VITAPHONIC LONG PLAY at bottom
1965-67 - Gold label, VITAPHONIC wording deleted.
1967-70* - Green Label, Warner Bros. - Seven Arts Records at top, with W7 logo under that.
1970-73 - Green Label, Warner Bros. Records at top, with WB Shield below.
1973-75** - Burbank Palm Trees label with no mention of Warner Communications in rimtext.
1975-78*** - Burbank Palm Trees label with Warner Communications wording and WCI logo in rimtext.
- 91505 zip code in rimtext used from 1974 - 1976.
- 91510 zip code in rimtext used beginning 1976.
1978-83 - Tan label w/ narrow horizontal lines
1983+ - White label, large WB shield at top and "ghosted" gray shields floating in the background.

*NOTE: The W7 logo would have been to January 1970, after February the shield returned. However, some Columbia plants had W7 labels they "burned off" well into the summer.

** NOTE: The palm trees labels (which kicked in during the Mar-Apr 1973 period) had no WCI logo up to spring 1975. And of those with the WCI logo, around the 2nd quarter of 1975 the WB shield logo looked as it had up to that point; after the 3rd quarter, the shield logo variant with the 'RECORDS' banner across it was introduced.

*** NOTE: The 91505 zip code was on Columbia pressings, which was applicable to Warners' pressings into 1977 and some late 1978/early '79 45's; also seen on 45 pressings by PRC and Shelley Products. The 91510 zip code was largely confined to Capitol pressings, though some by Monarch had it too.

Rainbo or RTI?
The pressing rings are identical. However, Rainbos often have an 11mm inner ring on one side. RTI tend to have light concentric
rings in the label. RTI muffin top is slightly more pronounced. Look for the catalog sequence in the runout. However, be aware that
there are at least a few known cases where Rainbo pressed RTI stampers, and the runouts have markings for both companies.

COLUMBIA MATRIX RUNOUTS
Phil Brown, a Columbia Records cutting engineer who recently contacted AnalogPlanet.
He worked for the label in the 1970s, so in addition to lacquers, Dolby tape copies were
included with the lacquers for “file recuts and tape duping”. According to him: “ An initial
lacquer order was 6 sets plus a ref for QC and 4 Dolby copies (of course. 1A&B went to
Pitman (N.J.), 1C&D to Terre Haute, (IN) 1E&F went to Santa Maria (CA).”
This explains why one could find a record with “-1A” on one side and “-1B” on the other,
since both were sent to the same Pittman pressing plant. According to this individual,
“ Any change in program triggers a -2. another change, -3. I saw a lot of -2, never
saw a -3. In other, more common systems the -2 would be an RE-1.”

It's not the record production, it's the sleeve which caused the noise.
