So true. There's also the "180 gram" sales trick but there are records from the 70's that are almost flexidisc thin that still play a lot better than the reissues of today.

This is terrible. I just ordered Maniac and now i got nervous. Unfortunately, sloppy pressing jobs seems to be more rule than exception these days. I'm not a hi-fi nerd (quite the opposite actually) but a brand new record that looks and sounds worse...

I've been a huge Shadow fan since Endtroducing and DI6 for at least 15+ years but never saw this until yesterday. Seems like the cat in the shop was the only one who knew what gold that Born Again 12" is.

This is becoming more and more common, brand new records looking like shit. Most likely it's the pressing plant that handle the stamps wrong. Like you said, lucky this one sounds good at least.
