Mine sounds quite good. Vinyl is flat and reasonably clean. Appears to me this was pressed at Optimal. I haven't listened to this album in a very long time; musically, It's a bit more lively at times than Two Against Nature.

Only negative is... See full review

Finally got my hands on this! I couldn't be more satisfied. It's an excellent pressing and an excellent mastering. I'm glad they reproduced the centre label. Easily one of the best library records ever made, and probably the best KPM album.

Only... See full review

Any sibilance on the inner tracks like Only the Wind? What about Face the Truth? Those two were quite bad on the 2018 pressing.

Not a fan of the A-side, but the B-side, New Boy, is one of their very best tracks.

I bought this in 1996 when MFSL gold discs were all the rage. I was big into Floyd and couldn't wait to compare it with my 1994 plain jane Capitol remaster. I could not tell a difference between them. They were completely identical, or close enough... See full review

I know this one isn't considered "essential" Tom Petty, but one man's "good music" is another man's "essential." I would call this essential. There are many excellent songs here, and none of them are played on the radio, making them sound fresh to... See full review

If it was mastered in 1993, wouldn't it be largely the same sound as the Citizen box set? Do you have both to do a comparison?

Excellent pressing! No sibilance even on the very inner grooves. It's A Feeling is my favourite Toto song and sounds great on this record!

Can anybody comment on the quality of this pressing? Better than the 2018 vinyl reissue? Can't be much worse.

Does "Glass Elevator" sample a track on the Geoff Bastow Bruton album Tomorrows World?

"Imposing" definitely samples "Land Lines" from the Bruton album Undergroove.

I've got the same thing. Very noisy, and one of the better tracks on the album. The rest of that side has noise too, though not as bad as track B1. Disc 2 sounds perfect.

Buyer beware.

Just listening to this, and wow, great album. "Underwater" is as dark a track as I remember first hearing 20 years ago. Great stuff, though no idea what is going on in the last two minutes, it doesn't fit. Then there's Dub 2, one of the best Fax... See full review

I don't have a quad setup (yet!), so obviously I'm not hearing the full effect here. But listening in stereo is still an interesting experience, and quite different from the stereo presentation. I hear parts of the music I never noticed, instruments... See full review

Both of the Xangadix albums are quite good, classic mid-90s Fax. In fact, I think both might rank in the top 10 all-time Fax albums. Certainly they're both far better than The MS-Series from the same guys.

The second album might be a bit better,... See full review

I've always wanted to hear this extended version of All For You.

Could some enterprising individual put it on youtube?

Pretty good collection - does the Akotcha "Sound" track sample something by Seefeel? And is the Solid Doctor track sampling a Lonnie Liston Smith bassline?

Really fine piece of work, quality music all around. Some of his best stuff. Once again RDJ's sense of humour is so evident in his music, and some of these tracks just make me chuckle in a good way. I've always loved the "faux-menacing" sound many... See full review

I decided to take a chance based on the other reviews here. It was a mistake. The record had several huge scuffs and gouges on one side that very badly affected play. It was also filthy, brand new out of the inner sleeve. I'm resigned to possibly... See full review

Listening on headphones, this sounds like a needledrop to me. Guessing the tapes are long gone. Inexplicably, Patty Duke is not in stereo here. What the heck?

Thank you, yes, I did find it on youtube. It was just out of curiosity. The performance is terrible though, especially the vocals.

Really wish the Curated Singles And Remixes disc could have been sold separately. Those tracks are really stellar.

My copy sounds great; side 2 is warped but does not affect play. The blue vinyl is beautiful and reminds me of my blue 45 rpm of Sara by Starship.

Music gets 10 stars out of 5, just an excellent jazz album, featuring memorable compositions and performances. All tracks are great. Pressing is 4/5 at best. Lonely Woman does indeed have issues but it's not too bad. I find the distortion more... See full review

They won't do a Tone Poet release because that was already done by Music Matters. It's pretty well documented on the Hoffman forums -- essentially Harley doesn't want to cause heartburn for those people who paid $75+ by offering a $25 product that is... See full review

Passable product -- really not a great mastering. It's not muddy, but it's not terribly crisp. Mids are overdriven and loud. So far I've read far more negative than positive reviews of these Abbey Road half-speed jobs. They clearly afford no... See full review

That's too bad.

You'd think this would be just a simple re-press of the 2012 reissue, which has good reviews.

Agreed with the other reviewer - the Cups Salt City remix is probably the best thing to ever appear on an Underworld record, and it's not really even their track.

I agree, but I'm not sure it will happen. It's not considered a "classic" (even though it IS), so won't come in the Classic series, and it was done twice by MM, so likely won't come in the Tone Poet series :(

I have tried three or four times to enjoy this album, but Ike Quebec's tone is absolutely unlistenable to me. It's all wavy, old-timey, and sounds occasionally like barnyard fowl. It's interesting to me that this was released as a Grant Green album... See full review
