I'm an huge music fan from Montreal. I listen to vinyl when I can.

These days I listen to a lot of funk, afrobeat, island funk, current funk, and reggae. Favorites include Fela Kuti, Geraldo Pino, the Soundway label, Cymande, Tony Allen, Burning Spear, Poets Of Rhythm and the Tramp label, the Daptone label, and of course James Brown and related artists.

I also enjoy post-punk (Gang Of Four, Talking Heads), current punk-funk (The Rapture, !!!, etc.), and some funky latin (Ray Barretto, Fania).

Please Note: I file releases under my "Want List" as a reminder to myself for items that piqued my interest. Please do not contact me if you want to sell.

Although it sounds like an authentic rare funk collection, all of the tracks in "Original Raw Soul" were recorded under different pseudonyms by none other than The Poets Of Rhythm. They have fooled many virgin ears over the years (including mine!) - but ... See full review
