Okay.

I can somewhat understand - but not tolerate - Discogs banning bootlegs from being sold here.

I can very well understand Discogs banning releases by nazi bands and other bands that spread their wretched ideas around - and I support the banning of these records wholeheartedly.

But banning releases "as a result of a legal notice received by Discogs asserting that a track on the release was not licensed by the rights holder" is just taking the whole thing a step too far.

I had planned to someday start buying records through Discogs. But this banning mania that just seems to keep on spreading wider and wider makes me think twice about buying anything through this site. I feel Discogs is, to some extent, digging its own grave, at least as a marketplace. Just because some execs with lots of power in the music business don't permit the sale of bootlegs, which have always been with us, will always be with us, and which can be obtained from numerous places around the web and even more physical stores and record fairs, I don't think Discogs should comply with all the legal notices that flood in, because it goes to ridiculous extremes too easily.

In the future, you will just keep seeing "no seller rating" and "no buyer rating" next to this notice.
