Whilst Japan love coining it in on CDs that sell on import they really hate spending their own money on transfers, unless they have been done overseas they will opt for vinyl a lot of times. When they do vinyl transfers I don’t think they even source ... See full review

One of those inexplicable cases of an obvious hit song not actually becoming a hit.

None of the tracks on the new Dollar releases are MP3. Only one track, Love Don’t Come Easy (master lost) is from vinyl. A few demos are from studio cassettes, as you would expect.

Very obscure song, but insanely catchy. Probably missed the optimal time to chart by about 12 months. Had the potential to be a hit.

This deserved to be a hit. The best record they made by far.

No one will want to pay the tape transfer costs unfortunately and it wasn’t a big enough hit for lots of people to be shouting out for it. I’d like it on CD too.

This and We Walked In Love and the mixes will be released November 29th on the Ultimate Dollar box set.

Does anyone know if a CD single of this exists?

There is a definitive Greatest Hits with the original versions on for all their singles, released on Cherry Red on November 29th. There will also be a 7 disc box set with tons of previously unreleased material.

Should have been a big hit. Some snowflakes at the time completely misinterpreted the words and made it out to be about domestic violence. See also Sam Fox Hurt Me! Hurt Me! (A song about hurting people with the bass), which suffered a similar fate.

Great UK exclusive artwork from design company Shoot That Tiger - who had a very distinctive style and also did some fantastic design work on Tina Turner at the same time.

The mix of Dare Me on here is a very rare US promo remix for radio.

This album gets forgotten about, arriving as it did towards the end of the Sisters recording career. It’s actually a really strong collection with some memorable songs, notably Insanity. This one was remixed as a single, but the album version is far ... See full review

This compilation was actually better than the official Simply The Best one, and the only place to get the 7” of One Of The Living on CD, for many years.

Some truly baffling track choices on this release and silly omissions. None of the new songs were particularly good. In fact it would be years before a good Tina compilation, The European Platinum Collection, would appear.

Good song. I was surprised it was such a minor hit, and that it has yet to appear on CD.

This is an absolutely superb album with some incredible vocal performances and unique arrangements of well known songs. The Boom Boom Room is one of those lost classics of the 80’s.

A very different version to the one Joe Galdo produced for the aborted Black Marilyn album, which was much more jazzy.

One of the best British singers of his generation. How this man wasn’t a massive star is a mystery.

One of the best records of 1982. Deserved a much higher chart placing.

Where the heck is Over The Phone? An Capella and dub over primary extended versions? Who compiled this?!

Can someone PLEASE issue the UK 7" mix on CD. No more random edits of the 12" on compilations.

This song SCREAMED HIT! Don’t know why it didn’t get a ton of airplay.

The tantalising running time of Raw Silk's 'Do It To The Music' might lead you to think we're finally getting the 7" version on CD. WRONG! It's another edit of the 12" without the a cappella intro. Boooo.

Always happy to see a new Patrice Rushen product, but given she only had two top 40 UK hits, it’s bizarre one of them isn’t included. Never the less, nice artwork and sleeve notes with good sound.

An exquisite release, in terms of packaging and music. It makes me sad to think these ladies wasted so many years in a silly feud when they could have made so much more music together. Hopefully they make up for lost time and get a new album out.

One of the last few biggish 80s hits not common on CD (alongside the likes of Zambezi by The Piranhas). About time those two were given the CD treatment.

These guys deserved to be much bigger. I remember getting a handwritten postcard from them when they were in the USA, because I was on their mailing list. I always thought that was really lovely of them.

I never understood why this was such a minor hit. It was a really great song - uplifting, instant and radio friendly.
