"How does Discogs maintain the quality of information? With strict guidelines"...
nik: They are guidelines, not rules.
It is important that the guidelines are seen as a little bit flexible (otherwise, they would be called rules).
Diognes_The_Fox:
I am in favor of whatever allows people the freedom to add descriptors in a manner that they find acceptable, but can be identifiable to others. I don't want to have to go through and change all my subs as a result of this update, nor do I want to force that upon everyone else. If there is an existing schema, I'd prefer if people adhere to that rather than edit everything to match their preferred formatting, so as long as what's there initially actually works
They are unlinked descriptor fields, as long as they properly describe the contents of the field, Camel Caps or regular grammatical methods are fine, do not edit releases to change these based on personal preference, please.
Diognes_The_Fox on BAOI variant sets:
If there's an existing format, go with that and don't change everything to suit your personal preference.
