don't have an original to compare but i've got the 2018 all-analogue 45rpm cut. this one, obviously from a hi-res digital file, cleans up the muddy midbass but has a very annoying glare on the high frequencies. soundstage isn't nearly as vivid as the... See full review

third man has nothing to do with these releases other than pressing them. the small warp on your copy is their issue, sure, but the jacket is the customer (UMG)'s choice, the paper inner is the customer (UMG)'s choice, the mastering was done at UMG's... See full review

jimmy39 the original record sounds great as is. this remix sounds congealed and thick and one-dimensional and boring. makes a good system sound like a boombox.

review for tracking angle coming very soon, but the album remix is absolutely horrid. bonus disc is pretty pointless. oh yeah, and it's £40.

the vinyl edition of 'cherry bomb' and the EU pressing of 'IGOR' are both absolutely wonderful, but i agree that the 'CMIYGL' vinyl is noticeably worse than the CD and the original EU pressing of 'flower boy' is also unremarkable.

i have the UK original, the later US pressing with the NRP-cut side A and welcome to 1979-cut side B, and this EU pressing from the MOV plates. the UK original is the most punchy and upfront, while this one has less grit but a wider soundstage. it's... See full review

doesn't have the sharp transients or 'in the room' presence of the original cut (though the remaster fixes some sibilance issues) but the bonus disc is good and the packaging is great. this was $45 upon release and an absolute steal then, though i... See full review

threetimes listened to my copy and yes, sounds like a digital source. LITA pressing also from a digital source but sounds more cohesive despite the 50th having more separation and space. i'll post my full review on tracking angle very soon.

this does not sound 'boomy and compressed' at all, though i think there's a deficiency of spatial resolution on this pressing. i prefer the japanese SHM-CD with the 2004 remaster over this pressing, but the original UK vinyl can't be beat.
