Science literacy is your vaccine against the charlatans of the world who would otherwise exploit your ignorance.

There's a difference between eating McDonald's hamburgers and having to sell them.

-If you want something done, then do it.
-Peer review is an asset. Ego is a liability.
-An artist's retirement never warrants removal of his/her/their releases from this site.
-If the voting system upsets you and/or you use the voting system to punish others then you joined Discogs with too large an ego.
-If a user makes some mistakes, it does not mean he or she is out to sabotage the site and all you've worked for.
-Please stop asking for "rips" or copies of music in my collection.
-Be patient with new users. You weren't so different back in the day.
-If you're selling a particular release, please add an image to the release page if one isn't already there. People need to know what they're buying.
-Protect the aluminum backing of your CDs. The protective polycarbonate layer is there for a reason.
-Keep in mind that a rare import to one is a common domestic to another.
-Shrinkwrapping an already opened release does not make it new nor does it make the release mint.
-Comments like "looks ineligible" or "fix invalid label" are useless without additional guidance.
-To anyone who complains about a broken jewel-case or keep-case... just stop.
Please remember that we are here to serve the greater good of a collective database. We all have different personalities and we all stem from different walks of life. It is the passion for music and collecting which brings us all together. We all know things that others do not, and we all don't know things that others do. At times it may seem the world is against us, individually or collectively. In any case, please be kind, courteous, friendly, and tolerant. Let cooler heads prevail. Soapbox rant over. Carry on!

As far back as I can remember my father had me listening to Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham, The Cars, and Linda Ronstadt. From there my passion for music flourished as my tastes in music fermented and expanded. I began listening obsessively in my free time and I would make free time so I could listen to more. I'm at the point now where I can't even drive for 2 minutes without listening to music. I've gone through countless CD players and MP3 players over the years, as I'm always sucking the life out of batteries.
I am also an obsessive collector of all music media, mostly CDs. The bulk of my collection is a hoard of CD's organized alphabetically by artist. In the span of each artist I have them organized chronologically by the date of the recording. I'm beginning to collect more DVDs, vinyl and cassettes, and I have a soft spot for splatter colored bootlegs.
