Great NY club classic titles in collector-grade condition.

I am a high-end collector / DJ and former NY City party animal who is selling some extra copies of great club titles I no longer need multiple copies of.

My need for some extra space is an opportunity for you to improve your collection.

The titles I have available are what I danced the night away to at the great NY City clubs like Studio 54, Xenon, Bond's, The Loft, Paradise Garage, Gotham East, Gotham West, Broadway 96, Mystique, The Saint, The Fun House, Thriller, 1018, The Roxy and others during the 1970s and 1980s.

All of my records have been professionally cleaned on a top-of-the-line VPI HW-17F record cleaning machine.

All of my records have been visually inspected and play-graded on a high-end sound system.

GRADING :

SS (Still Sealed) = Still in the original factory seal.

M (Mint) = Vinyl looks like new. Period.

M- (Mint Minus) = Vinyl still looks like new, but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws or light marks that do not affect play - probably from the manufacturing process or storage.

I do not have any records below the NM grade.

WRONG - The bassline segment they used is from one of the distinctive musical segments of Just A Touch Of Love. I partied through this period.

The New York City music scene covers a wide range of sounds and genres (plural, not singular), including a lot of music from the Caribbean. Remember, NY City was also home to two of the major Jamaican and Caribbean music importers, located in Jamaica, NY ... See full review

Then you go ahead and play the MONO version while I play the STEREO version which sounds much better on high-end analog equipment!

No James, this record is NOT every bit as good as Just A Touch of Love by Slave. Any record that uses clearly identifiable and highly distinctive elements of another record can never be considered as good as the original.

Counterfeit / bootleg 12" singles do not automatically sound better than an original LP or a 7"/45. I have been doing side-by-side comparisons for many years. You can hear them the next time you come over to my place. Are you LP and/or 7"/45 averse?

Great early Holland split-artist 12" with the Arabic / Middle Eastern-flavored jazz / orchestral instrumental "The Funky Arab" b/w the Afro / jazz / funk classic "New Bell". A great decision by Pink Elephant to press New Bell on a 12", but a major ... See full review

Sensual, elegant jazz/funk/soul 4-track 12" with two additional tracks / mixes that are not on the original Italian 12". Sounds great on a good quality analog system that can deliver a clear, warm, life-like soundstage with excellent depth and bottom.

Regardless, by now MONO was totally passe, especially on the new 12" format specifically designed for longer versions and club-level mastering, sound quality and loudness.

A major management / marketing mistake by Atlantic for not putting the original killer, funky version of Hijack by Barrabas on side B instead of Bertha Butt Boogie and pressing this split-artist UK 12" at 45 rpm instead of 33.3 rpm. The Herbie Mann cover ... See full review

Obvious counterfeit designed to look like what an original 12" might have looked like had one ever been issued, but has label errors / inconsistencies that only an expert would immediately pick up on.

Nice collector's 12". Too bad they did not put Journey To Phoebus or Getaway as the A2 track instead of the Montreal Olympics Closing Theme.

Another fine example of an obscure underground commercial track worth money because it is hard to find, not because it is a good record. Rarity does not equal musical quality. There is much better material from this genre that has stood the test of time. ... See full review

Because the version and pressing quality on the Next Plateau 12" does not compare to the version and pressing quality on the original LP!

Obvious, low-quality bootleg that was NOT made in Germany. The stamper and rough label paper quality are dead giveaways, along with no company info and no BIEM STEMRA or GEMA logo on the label.

Who needs that? It's on the album, as well as two or three other promo 12"s. The 5.42 edit on here is great.
