I have been collecting all styles of hardcore techno from early rave through to terrorcore for over ten years now (since 1994). I have quite a few rare doubles to trade so feel free to contact me if you have something in my wantslist.

I first got interested in UK hardcore in around 1993 after listening to illegal pirate radio stations such as Don FM, Dream FM and Flex FM. Went to some clubs in London such as at Bagleys, Labrynth, Adrenalin Village etc... but soon got disillusioned with the scene when the music split into jungle and happy hardcore. I got into the harder euro rave sound, hardcore techno and early gabber after listening to DJs like TRAFFIK, DSL, TORAH and SWITCH on ENERGY FM. From then on I visited harder techno and acid clubs and raves - DEATH ROW, HELTER SKELTER (Teknodrome), LIVE EVIL, RAMPANT, DISTURBANCE + more.

I've played at maybe 200+ illegal warehouse raves in and around London since 1997 on sound systems such as CROSSBONES, MAINLINE, MAYHEM, PAN!K, TECHNONOTICE, GABBAWOCKY, TRIBE OF MUNT, SECTION 63, STORM, TORMENT, DISRUPTIVE AUDIO, FUKNOSE, BUNCH OF KUNTS, SOKAID + many more and in Rotterdam for WAR system as well as legal club events like RAVE FRONTIER, DROP THE BOMB, NORDCORE (Hamburg), S-G-C (Frankfurt) and Saxony Speedcore (Dresden).

I have been going to hardcore raves all over Europe (Hellraiser, Thunderdome, A Nightmare In Rotterdam, Masters of Hardcore, Hellbound, Megarave + loads of smaller oldschool and terror parties) since 1997.

50% of collection loaded so far!

Quite possibly the greatest ever hardcore techno record produced. Every track gets a 5/5 from me, Antimusic being my favourite. A pure and relentless onslaught of darkness.

According to a source who is close to one of the Fifth Era members this series will include tracks from "4 shoe-boxes worth of amiga floppy discs and data dvds"!

My red version came in a black sleeve with sticker and my pink version in a white sleeve with sticker.

do you know if this release is a vinyl rip?

My copy is pressed off-centre which means the stylus moves from side to side quite vigorously. Does anyone else have this problem with their copy?

correct. the version without a red stamp is an unofficial bootleg and is likely to be a vinyl rip.

One of the highest selling hardcore records in The Netherlands, 8,000+ copies sold.

It's track Track B2 Lenny Dee - "Bad Data" that is also known as "Knight Phantom - The Curse" on the Mayday Compilation - A New Chapter Of House and Techno '92.

'Potato Head' appears on Industrial High - The Industrial High E.P. as well, but is called 'What The Fuck'.

My white label version has 'RB007' written in black pen on the B-side and 'Test - 28/10/93 - Under Rhythm' on the A-side. I think this must be a mistake though since Mark-T isn't part of Under Rhythm and the style of the tracks are completely different.

A very mediocre track. Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's any good or worth paying top dollar for!

'One For Dark Crew' spoilt with a really geigh breakdown. Sounds like something you would hear in an Ibiza trance track.

Beware of unoffical bootleg represses that do not have the red Eurk stamp on the label or stickered sleeve.
posted a comment on Traffik (2) - Darkside. about 1 year ago
A fault at the pressing plant means there's a 'blip' on the track called Darkside causing it to jump. All copies are the same. Many records pressed at GZ in Czech suffered from poor quality pressings during this era.

not up to the standard of parts 1 and 2

Take me higher is THE standout track on this ep. Don’t be fooled by the track title or the stompy 4/4 intro as it quickly descends into a nightmarish amen break meltdown. More intelligent and less cheesy than many other darkside tracks released in 1993.

Awesome distorted acid music that suffers from really poor vinyl mastering.

The track "Barrier" became well known after appearing in Laurent Ho's famous MCM Hardcore mix.

Awesome extra-tone release. Both tracks have tempos in excess of 10,000 bpm making the tracks only audible to extreme ultra-speedcore fans.

A seminal record that paved the way for the darker German doomcore sound made famous by PCP, Frankfurt. A heavy kick drum, off-beat hi-hats and a droning synth noise made this record much harder and darker than anything else released at that time. ... See full review

Pitch-Hiker is actually a remix of an early Belgian techno track called Bass Drum & Hi-Hats by Wax on USA Import Music, the arrangement is almost exactly the same. This really should have been given a credit on the record.
