It's not bad, bit quiet overall and boomy on the base. Coloured vinyl, so was a bit crackly on quieter parts.

Clear vinyl press next. The whole thing has become beyond parody.

I have a slightly later bootleg press but it's A5/B1 on that and there's a clean edit of Fakin Jax.

I have seen a yellow promo version on MAG but if you have different versions, there's nothing to stop you adding them to the database.

I picked up my copy from Piccadilly Records in Manchester. Sticker said Pallas so was fully expecting it to be the UK press. Card inners and stamped 44981 on the matrix confirm it isn't Optimal.

I have the 6 CD reissue from a while ago which I think contains all the tracks off the Morricone & Nicolai LPs but I don't like the way it is set-up or presented. Suppose it makes no difference when listening and it was a lot cheaper than trying to buy ... See full review

It's pretty confusing. I have had a first press, bought on the week of release. Gold embossed logo, band photo inners and black label with red waterfall (?) artwork on the reverse. I was always led to believe this was a "first pressing". Now, 25 years ... See full review

It really reminds me of the old Global Communication LP, 76:14 in places. Also bits of it remind me of Jon Hopkins' Immunity.

Thanks, that's exactly where I recognised it from. It in turn is sampled from the early 80s Situation by Yazoo (which I remember the keyboard riff but not the laugh). Both samples are pitched differently.

Yeah I don't get why it didn't get a vinyl release when MCA pumped out shit after shit record on vinyl at the same time but apparently it didn't get a commercial release. Hopefully one of the labels that have done a slew of other Morricone reissues can ... See full review

Coloured vinyl, it's shit.

Depends what the reissue source was i.e. original masters etc. I doubt it, it's quite a muddy sounding press but I don't have the original to compare it to, my pockets ain't that deep. I have the CD issue from a while back, ... See full review

No, definitely this repress. Same matrix nos etc. I don't know what half the people on Discogs are on about most of the time, I think they're all glue sniffers. Most of them don't even have an original to compare it against and in the case of this album, ... See full review

Why's it a rip-off? You will be lucky getting an original copy for less than £500 and the 2009 reissue is tricky to get hold of.

Seems nearly every reissue is coloured vinyl these days. It's always been noisy from my experience (right from buying records in the 80s) but it seems that solid colour vinyl is more at fault than clear coloured vinyl. That aside, if you can't afford an ... See full review

Agreed. Coloured vinyl sounds worse than black anyway.

FWIW, they have just released coloured represses of the first two releases anyway, in the store now.

Coloured vinyl was/is notoriously bad for surface noise. It's just symptomatic of the format. I used to always facepalm when labels released 12"s on coloured vinyl because you knew it would always (and did) sound like sh1t. I've a couple on Djax, I think ... See full review

All the samples are from an Orson Welles narrated documentary about Nostradamus called "The man who saw tomorrow" from 1980. It's a remake of an earlier version with his hosting segments. Anyway, it's that!
