Worldwide Shipping And Sales Info
SHIPPING POLICIES UPDATED 01/10/2020
USPS First Class International IS DEFAULT FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. IT IS AN AIRMAIL SERVICE WHICH IS ALSO AN "ECONOMY" SERVICE, AND THE CHEAPEST WAY TO SHIP INTERNATIONALLY FROM THE U.S.

Time:
COVID-19 has SLOWED International shipping. Please expect AT LEAST one month from the seller in the U.S.A. (me) to the international buyer (you) — this is unfortunately the “new normal.”

PRICE:
$30.00 USD for first 12” or LP; Full details:
https://www.discogs.com/seller/PhatGaijinPress/profile

Reliable Professional Packaging
We have been selling and shipping collectible items for over thirty years. Everything from Hummel figurines to Waterford crystal to U.S. release laserdiscs to Japan!

When shipping vinyl, we ALWAYS remove vinyl from outer sleeve to prevent seam-splitting. ALWAYS. Sleeve and Vinyl are packaged separately in new 3-mil sleeves. We include a generic inner sleeve as well as original, printed inner sleeve (if and when available - our item description will always clarify this). Sleeve and vinyl as described above are surrounded by bubblewrap, with a corrugated stiffener on each side, then packaged in either a Whiplash or ULINE “pizza box” mailer, depending on how many records will fit in each instance. Finally, we seal the package using WAY too much packaging tape. Our packaging methods are sometimes excessive... but it means getting the item there in one piece!

Sales And Shipping Parameters
- We ship 5 days a week - sometimes 6!*
- The sooner you pay, the sooner we ship!
- NO sound clips — Sorry.
- Sales Tax is out of our control.
- No Minimum Purchase Required
- Prices Are Firm

*USPS is closed on Federal holidays.

Shipping Price — USA
Lower than USPS retail!*
1 (one) 12” or LP in a pizza box is $3.25 via Media Mail.
*Actual January 2020 USPS retail price for 1 (one) 12” or LP in a pizza box is $3.33 via Media Mail.

((Media Mail is our default for all items sold and shipped to buyers within the Lower 48, along with Alaska, Hawaii, and all US territories))

Shipping Price — International
The most affordable International shipping rate via USPS is First Class International. It is our default for all items sold and shipped to foreign buyers.

2020 Shipping Price Increase
USPS increased shipping rates in February, 2020. In fact, their prices have always increased year after year, and have NEVER decreased significantly. This doesn’t mean very much to buyers who live in the USA, but for those who live overseas, it may mean that the price for shipping will be too high.

Grading and Pricing
We grade and price accurately.

Mistakes
We make mistakes from time to time, owing to anything from a mistaken pressing or catalogue number to a description of the condition. But we will NOT leave you unsatisfied. Simply let us know and we will make a reasonable refund available to you.

REFUNDS!
We correct mistakes as soon as possible. Please send us a message explaining the issue with the item in question. Here’s a recent example: “This item was not as described. Too many scratches. It’s a VG copy at best!”

Not only did we fully refund the item, we offered the buyer a like-priced item from our store, free of charge, as compensation for the buyer’s time and trouble.

Just make sure to tell us: “I want a refund on this item.” and we will refund the item. However, if you send a message stating the problem WITHOUT specifically asking for a refund, we might not remedy the issue in as timely a manner as we would like to do.

Remember: Without very clear messaging and communication, Discogs can be a troublesome experience for users.

Note on International Sales
International shipping is expensive. If the same (or similar) item is available closer to where you live and in like condition, it is likely priced more affordably (cheaper vinyl) and will have cheaper shipping.

Non-US releases are almost always easier to find cheaper from sellers in the country in which the item was originally released, or in neighboring countries.

Mistakes And Refunds - Reprise
Again, if we should mistakenly describe, grade, and price an item we will do our very best to make it right with you. In the meantime, please do not insult us. Insults do NOT motivate us, and actually cause an inverse response. While you will get a partial or full refund, you will also be blocked from making future purchases. You have been notified, so please buy and sell and communicate with care.

We Are Busy
Our Discogs store is an extension of our hobby, and NOT a full-time career. We are a two person show, which means two full-time jobs (plus one part time job), and YES we also have family obligations.

We’re Busy But We Reply Promptly.
We reply promptly to all inquiries.

About Us
We are collectors and hobbyists first, and foremost. We started buying, selling, and collecting in the 1970s, and yes, we have been packaging items for shipping for many decades, too — even before eBay was in existence. We package professionally: Whiplash mailers, bubblewrap, two corrugated stiffeners sandwiching the bubblewrapped LP (taken OUT of the sleeve to prevent seam-splittin — naturally!) and wayyyyy too much packaging tape on the outside.

Even though times have changed some expect that prices will remain static... but this is not the case!

The “collectors market” (along with other factors on the selling end) affects pricing. We recommend researching sales trends via Goldmine Magazine along with the recorded (eBay) auction sales data which is archived at the websites Popsike and Gripsweat. Moreover, we recommend getting a feel for the “WANTS” and “HAVES”, here on Discogs.

If you are browsing our collection asking to buy VG+ copies for low, low prices, you will be disappointed. Our collection is large and not uniformly represented by a single grading condition.

Either way, we are busy and have no time to haggle over prices. Do yourself a favor and save your dealmaking savvy for eBay.

Basic Thoughts On Buying And Selling
- Buying on Discogs should be easy.
- Selling on Discogs should be easy.
- Should is the operative word. ^_^

About US II - Revenge Of The Nerds
We are longtime music nerds, bedroom musicians, and collectors of MUCH more than just recorded music media.

One of us is full time IT industry, the other is full time in food and beverage — and ALSO part time as the e-commerce dept. for a local “brick and mortar” vinyl retailer. You probably haven’t heard of this place since it is completely off the beaten path:
https://www.discogs.com/seller/BarelyBrosRecords/profile

For the past six months (COVID-19), I have been selling like crazy for Barely Brothers, which means that I've had less time to sell from the Phat Gaijin Press collection.

About US III - Attack Of The Clones
We are NOT a brick and mortar!
Yet. Maybe someday...

Why Discogs? - Part I
RIGHT? Shouldn’t we be on Amazon or eBay?

Yeah... no.

Both Amazon and eBay take a big (HUGE) cut from all sales made, and both platforms reward high-volume sellers who offer free shipping and free returns, over low-volume collectors and sellers like us. This is a recipe for disaster from our perspective.

Why Discogs? - Part II
Before the Sales aspect became the end all and be all of this website and platform, Discogs was an excellent reference! For the most part it has remained this way, and we’ve used it since the early days.

But it has definitely changed, and nowadays it’s All About The Money.

We keep our prices fair, but beware! We have a very low tolerance for skin flints angling for a better price. If you want to buy records from us in order to “flip” them later, we wish you luck! But we do not offer discounts or haggle over prices for “large” buys.

Personal Philosophies
Pricing
We do our best to keep our prices low.

We are a “low-volume” seller, and NOT a full-time online retailer. As we are not in this for the money, we have often found ourselves playing the “race to the bottom” game in order to sell. Our prices are often among the lowest on Discogs if not THE VERY LOWEST prices. This is the reason we do not haggle. If you insist on haggling, feel free to skip our listings and try your luck at eBay, instead.

Looking For Cheaper Prices?
Various internet search functions enable anyone to find cheaper prices than you’re likely to find from Discogs users like us.

INCREDIBLE deals can be found on eBay, Reverb LP, etsy, Craigslist, and so on.

The “About Us” section explains our background and why we are here on Discogs.

Discogs Store And Sales
Our Discogs store is NOT a business or a “side hustle.” We break even, at best.

Our Collection
We collect MUCH too much of everything.

I have the OG copy. It really is just frogs in a swamp. And maybe in the month of June.

Epic frogitude, and not for n00bs.
