There is a weapon hidden on the B side of this single... Brooklyn. Wanna know why it's called Brooklyn? Get yourself some Roy Ayres records and find out.

I guess this version is sought after as it's the only one with the original instrumental? Or is there another reason?

In my opinion, the original 1999 version is the better version of this great reggae compilation.

'Salty Tears' is a subtle Moodymann-esque deep house jam. Not quite up there with Kenny's stuff but a very nice rainy day house record to be enjoyed.

I think these guys are talking about the MK dub. I'm not aware of a version called NY dub.

'Freaks landed vocal' is worth checking out. Quality house production.

Heads are definitely correct to be giving credit to 'sliding' - it is immense. Also worth mentioning is the jaw-dropping introduction to '5ives'. Can't get enough of it.

To have other people acknowledging our importance is what life is all about, because we often have a hard time convincing ourselves that we are as important as we want other people to think.

Both sides are great party starters, and that's what these edits are for. No one would claim they were better than the brilliant source material... they just add some thump for different dancefloors.

Persian - Space Within Art
posted a review of Persian - Space Within Art. 7 months ago
Essential Persian here. Regulars will know to expect it nice and crusty, and with plenty of bass to satisfy your speakers. This guy is a legend to those that know. Jacob's dub is particularly joyous, but it's all good.

I guess Relief used the railroad warning sign because they laid down so many tracks (of course by trax I mean stripped back house grooves). Correct me if I'm wrong - just sharing thoughts. Like others below have said, one of the cult labels of the... See full review

Something for everyone here from the mighty Reggie Burrell. Some gorgeous vocal jams and then keep going till B2 where you'll find the trackier, bumping vibes of Play, Work, Play. It's all good.
Ian Pooley - What's Your Number / Welcome To The Tunnel
posted a review of Ian Pooley - What's Your Number / Welcome To The Tunnel. 9 months ago
What a talented producer Pooley shows himself to be across both sides of this record. The relaxed, breaky jam 'What's your number' which is even better known in the equally superb Jazzanova remix. Then we have the more tracky, but far from predictable... See full review

a narrow-minded view of uk garage - a scene derided by many, but it's influenced many artists. I wonder how deep you have delved into it before dismissing it.

I'm sure this bargain bin record is loved by some. Track A2 'the way you loved me' is a crazy chunk of sampling and slamming beats. Not for everyone, but definitely for me.

The beats on this instrumental hip hop album are so good. I do wish the producer hadn't slapped the 'Bruce Li' sample over the whole record so many times (several times on every beat - why???). It's irritating and distracts from the high quality... See full review

Big Theo fan, but the A side gets the most spins from me. Mr. G hits the spot (sorry) with a deeply hyonotic and enjoyable mix of 'Mike Grant- My Soul, My Spirit'. It could just run and run and I wouldn't tire of it - such elegant simplicity.

Playing it now. Nice fat and flat 7 inch. I'm no audiophile so I can only say I'm very happy with it - loud and clear and bringing a smile to my face. I've bought most of this series and I'm enjoying them a lot.
