This is a lot of very very cool jazz tracks, and the recording has terrific separation of stereo sound. While a sextet, you can really hear the positioning and individual instrumentation across the album.

All around excellent funk album. Bottom end of the recording is not lost in the dynaflexiness of the pressing, thankfully.

If you had to get one Pavement album, this (arguably) should be it. Great tracks across the whole album.

This is a splendid recording, with a nice separation of solo pianist and orchestra on the recording.

It's a fantastic high-quality recording with sonic separation between instruments to allow for panning effects during songs, while still maintaining a tight sound throughout. Someone at the recording studio put a lot of thought into how this would... See full review

This is a really excellent album buy a guy I had never heard of before I picked this up on wax. Solid recording of the live performances.

This album is a complete tour-de-force. Experimental abstract electronic soundscapes, looped breaks, and trip hop beats. This album is the jam. Songs of a Dead Dreamer is on a level of Brian Eno's Music for Airports or Apollo, but with a street... See full review

"Soul Jazz" is an apt descriptor for this terrific album. If you want to get as sense of the style of music, think "Porgy & Bess" singing with a jamming be-bop soundtrack.

The epitome of cool West Coast jazz, done right by this terrific, if underrated, trio of wind/guitar/bass. Released in 1957, there are hints of early improvisational jazz mid stream in these jazz standards. A knockout album.
