September 3, 2019
kenny Sharp favourite, features on his studio mixtape, another outstanding addition to the burgeoning chris cowie music CV

Subhead - 002 Rich.C

September 3, 2019
Dj Ribbz from favourite from back in the day, subhead were light years ahead of their time, not afraid to experiemnt and push the boundaries, and this is no exception, keepers of the frequency is the peak - ribbzy peak time! "foot to the floor and we are rolling nce and easy"
Rich.C

Voodoo Child - Voodoo Child Rich.C

September 3, 2019
Peak time sasha, dropped by the man like @ the eclipse all those years ago, enough said!
Rich.C

Pablo Gargano - Girotondo Rich.C

September 3, 2019
senza volta gets all the praise and rightly so no hard trance collection is complete without that, but this is just as good, disc 3 in particular is cracking, the ultimate frontier just pips it for me, deep, dark, hectic, get with it!

Fire & Ice - Fire & Ice EP Rich.C

September 3, 2019
3 classic fire & ice tracks and another cracking addition to the gold series but bonzai, if your gonna put a track like souvenir the chine on at least give us the fulllenght version, its criminal. You cant even mix this in its that short so you end up having to fade it boooo, a real shame, the other 2 tracks are good in their own right, neverending melody reminds me of gouryella - gouryella, but i just cant give this 5 out of 5 for the obvious reasons stated above

Plus + One - The Awakening (E.P.) Rich.C

August 29, 2019
Id'ed as the sole remaining unknown in Dj Vertigos set @ The Gallery leeds 92, absolute quality, so glad i managed to track down a copy, another cheeky white unearthed by the man like.

Phase 2 Face - The Call Rich.C

August 26, 2019
Big m-zone track this, features on his Helter Skelter Outer Limits 1998 set, at a time when kai tracid was the don in hard trance alongside acolytes such as M.I.K.E., Andreas Kraemer, Pulsedriver, Dj Mind X and countless others, quite a thumping one this but only worth really playing until the breakdown, lunatec what a under-rated label
Rich.C

DJ JamX Joins B.I.A. (2) - ! Das Licht ! Rich.C

August 26, 2019
Features on Mark EGs Brainstorm 1999 cd, typical dumonde stuff, with some nice german vocals over the top of the breakdown for good measure, at a time when chaos were top of their game and catching the ear of mark eg and m-zone
Rich.C

Strings Of Harmony - Sadness Rich.C

August 26, 2019
Another over-rated trance track, strings of harmony's best track was easily part 1, the version mark eg use to play which isn't on this release, release on Equity & Drizzly. The track sadness is nothing special, bordering on euro-cheese, so i cannot for the life of me understand why this record is selling for so much money? someone please enlighten me? which shit euro dj's are playing this to hike the prices up?

Code-37 - Astral 98 Rich.C

August 26, 2019
One of the most over-rated URRs which for some strange reason seems to command alot of money! it was played by mark eg @ club kinetic reunion, but those vocals are so cheesy, the hardtrance mix is ok but nothing special, not as good as code 40 - aural harmony imo, and alot cheaper too, definitely not a top 5 URR, nowehere near take me higher, es geht los, atmosphere ep, wanna play house, feel my desire or organix, the first sign that the label was running out of steam.

Punk Floyd - 3 Day Illegal Rave Party From Hell / Comfortably Dumb Rich.C

August 26, 2019
One of the best from punk floyd and another worthy addition to smittens growing back catalogue of acid techno, comfortably dumb (clearly a play on pink floyds track - comfortably numb for those of you that didnt know) has elements of vibe bar rejects - disturbance in it, typical geezer/chris knowles stuff....lovely!
Rich.C

Various - No Respect Four-Pack Rich.C

August 26, 2019
The pick has to be mystic culture, first heard this by the legend that is colin favor @ helter skelter 1994, nice pounding typical dj hooligan bassline, mixes well with pitched up techno from around that time also and the hard trance of the mid 90s, so a good one for the box, from a quality label. The other 3 trax are quality aswell so pick this up when you see it, cheap as f**k aswell.
Rich.C

Sloane Strangers - Mind Over Matter Rich.C

August 26, 2019
Nice piece of prog trance that featured on dj vertigo's "float on" 95 mixtape, simple riff yet mightily effective, nice string breakdown also, sweet.
Rich.C

N-Joi - Anthem Rich.C

August 26, 2019
Hard to believe that anthem and malfunction are written by the same people, both quality tracks in their own right, played by the likes of sasha and vertigo back in the day, my pick has to be malfunction (i first heard this dropped by clarkee @ Club Kinetic suprisingly) just because anthem seems to be caked all over the "top 25 rave anthems" on mtv, ive kind of got sick of it, malfunction has a real early warehouse rave feel to it, love it!
Rich.C

Rainbow Zone - Vol. 1 Rich.C

August 20, 2019
Superb ep, played to death by dj vertigo in 1992, the pick for me has to be deceiver, features on vertigo's "vote party party" 92 mixtape, the main riff is very catchy and the bassline is very ravey, winning combo...happy days!

Kektex vs. Sarcoblast - Inner City Junkies Rich.C

August 20, 2019
Inner City Junkies could easily of been Dj Ramos' national anthem back in 1998-99 he hammered this track @ Helter Skelter (both at To The Millenium b2b with ribbz and Nightlife 99) nice bit of acid techno and not too heavy which i like, the reason this pack commands so much is (in my opinion) the support tracks are decent aswell, often with double packs experimental tracks are just shoved on to fill space but as mentioned beneath the Sarcoblast tracks are decent techno trax in their own right, so your getting a good 2x12 release here...get it in ya box!

100% Acidiferous - Tank / 303 State Rich.C

August 20, 2019
Nina Kraviz is starting to drop this quite regularly in her sets, hence why the price has rocked just like the mind drum - advanced vector and dj randy - deception, it seems that as soon as Nina drops a classic from yesteryear that this gives all sellers a green light to ask what price they like for it, (im just glad i bought all these tracks first time around!)
I wouldnt say this is rare and i wouldnt say its worth £20+ its decent but you do soon get bored of it, saying that tank is easily 100% acidferous's best track so if your gonna buy one of their track make sures it this, that comment probably refelcts the price! plays from beltram and lenny dee aswell so if their playing it it must have "some" miles in it!

Weirdo - Photic Zone / Gotta Keep On Rich.C

August 20, 2019
Although categorised as hard trance the B side has a very hard house feel it it, tinrib was a good crossover between hard trance and hard house just like Nukleuz, photic zone gets all the praise for me, big dj m-zone track throughout 1999 (features on his Helter Skelter - Lost in Music 99 set) the hoover samples grab your attention without being too overpowering and making this hard house "style" track veer more towards hard trance (thank god!) quite a quick one so youll need to pitch down to mix with some of the hard trance aroud at that time, but a decent track for the box, weirdo's finest hands down!
Rich.C

The Green Martian - End Of The Earth Rich.C

August 20, 2019
I cant believe how overlooked this piece of plastic is, so much so its criminal! 3 blinding trance tracks and yet another addition to Bonzai's everglowing CV. I might suprise one or two but the directods cut of end of the earth is the pick, sharkey played this @ Space 99,a real hard trance weapon if pitched up to 6+, nice driving feel to it and certainly one for the mind, I so wish sharkey played more of this stuff as oppose to the trancecore.
Reformation was to feature on one of kenny sharps mixtape in 1999, typical bonzai stuff, the hidden one here thou has to be out from the deep, this has a very progressive feel to it and I wouldnt be suprised if oakenforld and/or sasha dropped this in 1998/99, has a very airwave feel it, again pitch this up and you could get away with this as hard trance.
Definitely Green Martians finest for me and a nice waxer from the Tranceportation stable who lets face it were on the radar of all trance djs throughout 1998-99.
Rich.C

Euromas - PPM Rich.C

August 20, 2019
A nice taste of swiss trance and little unknown kenny sharp track from 1998 from a label that produced some pretty uplifting stuff between 1998-99, features on one of the dj cyglas mix cds aswell, the thing i like with this track is the build up, the way the riff fades into the bassline on the break is sweet (the remix im talking about) nice stuff ;)

Baby June - I Will Be Free Rich.C

August 20, 2019
Totally agree, wicked track yet chip as chips? for me its all about the evolution mix, although the floor federation mix is good A1 is my preferred choice, this was a big un for dj vertigo in 1993. featires both on his plaza 93 set and Freshasa mixtape, baby june has to me one of the most under-rated producers of early house music, the riff in this track will stay in your head for ages!
Rich.C

V.I.P. 3000 - The Combat / Rock 'n' Roll Rich.C

August 20, 2019
Rock n Roll is the opening track on the Hard Trance Vol 1 mix cd, always reminds me of meteor seven - universal music (jamx mix) for some reason, similar melodies, this was a favourite with dj m-zone in 2000, that "rock n roll" vocals releases the main riff a treat. Contact is a good b side track, samples the computer game starcraft and has a harder bassline, good music
Rich.C

Jurgen Veld - Dancin' With The Guru Rich.C

August 20, 2019
One of if not my favourite end of the night tracks, beautiful rhythm and a great set ender as demonstrated by the man like vertigo in 1996
Rich.C

M - Running (The Future Is Now!) (Special Mix) Rich.C

August 6, 2019
Ignore running the big one on this is without doubt das wunder, a little unknown m-zone track from Tomorrows World 1995, 5/5
Rich.C

Planisphere - Deep Blue Dream Rich.C

August 6, 2019
Although I love Bonzai and indeed Planipshere i do think this is one of their weaker releases yet people still command alot of money for it. Its typical bonzai progressive and all the hallmarks of veronez are present on this one, this was played alot by dave seaman in 1999 but its too repetitive for me, the track just doesn't go anywhere, id steer people more towards so many ways, a better build up and bassline, a big un for dj paul oakenfold throughout 2000.
