This is a dope release. It's a comfort knowing that hip hop is still being done the way it should be. I just love this style of hip hop, it's a throwback to the good old days, beats, rhymes and cuts. A strong homage to the old school and golden era.... See full review

Thought I would do a quick review on this overlooked group. I like them, but they don't seem that popular and that saddens me. Who doesn't like 'You ain't fresh' or 'Zodiac' or the b-boy anthem 'Break dancer'. Those tracks are strong. They may have... See full review
Earth, Wind & Fire - Faces

To me, a lifelong EWF fan, this is their most slept on album. "Faces" Hasn't got the props and accolades it truly deserves. Is it their best? Probably not, but it ain't far behind. It has all their trademark sounds and top notch musicianship is in... See full review

A very strong release from the elements. Don't be fooled because it's a good ten years after their debut. This album has some quality tracks, 'side by side' 'the speed of love' and 'something 'special' are my three favourites, but the rest of this... See full review

If I could do a funk record, I would do it this way. I love the change in tempo on this track, It's funky as hell. The music is superb. This track is a great example of how different and classy funk music can be. A true gem. Andrew...You definitely got it! See full review

Have to agree with the previous dude, this is the best they ever did. I also adore this album, every damn track is good. Their second and third albums were half decent, but after that, forget it. This release is their masterpiece to me. I can't praise... See full review
Spyder-D - Rap Is Here To Stay

Another nice release from Spyder D. Indeed, Duane knew what he was talking about. Rap was most definitely here to stay. "Buckwheat's Beat" is quite catchy, but not a patch on the Rap Is Here To Stay track. 35 years have passed since it's release, and... See full review

I still have this album. I think it's a decent effort. The tracks "set the mood" "pray for death" "victim to the vinyl" and "the assassinator" are very good, and worth buying just for those cuts. The other tracks are OK, but not to everyone's liking.... See full review

This track takes me way back. First heard this on the Street Sounds Electro 1 album, the very first track as well. It's a nice record with some cool vocoder parts. Remember this on the boombox in school during lunch break...aahh, the good ol' days. A... See full review

My favourite album by them, and they have a huge catalogue. I can't find a weak point on this release. Musicianship out of this world. So nice to play this and just mellow out. A stellar effort from this fantastic group. Highly recommended

My favourite album from Jean-Luc. Love the title track, but the track that nails it for me is 'Don't let the world pass you by' mind blowing tempo and a gorgeous build up. Phenomenal musicianship. Don't research this album, just buy it and bask in... See full review

Incredible release from Low Pro. Aladdin's skills are mind blowing. Nice cut ups on Bootsy Collins and Ripple. W.C. always tight, never fails to impress. Wish they did more together. Nice to hear hip hop being done the way it should be. Essential
Supreme Force - You Gotta Come Out Fresh

This is such a quality track. Hardcore hip hop at it's finest. A young Freddie Foxxx steals the show. Blinding lyrics and a beat to match. God I wish hip hop was still being made in this vein. Like Common said, I Miss H.E.R. Just buy this and don't argue! See full review

Classic cut by Run DMC. Especially like the 'Jam Master Jay' track. Don't crank the bass up to high on that track or you might need new windows, it's a beast. Sampled numerous times. I miss this era of hip hop. R.I.P. Jam Master Jay, your cuts live on

I don't normally review records I don't like, but I had to say something about this release. I love Cold Crush, But I can't bring myself to love this track. It's bland and boring at the very least. It's hard to believe this is the same group that... See full review

Steady B's finest track by a mile. I remember hearing this on the radio, played by the late John Peel (R.I.P) The production and the sound is so gritty and raw. Purchased it within a week of hearing it. I wish hip hop would revert back to this style... See full review

Not enough hip hop like this about. This a strong effort from Marco & Torae. Revolution never disappoints. The absence of the DJ is whats lacking in a lot of current hip hop. Without the DJ there would be no hip hop. I've never forgotten that.

Beautiful cuts from Rev, his skills are on point and precise. A solid album throughout. Some nice cameos on here. Nice to hear people paying homage to the Dj, the forgotten heroes of hip hop. An essential purchase for any turntablism fans

A classic cut by the Fearless 4. They could never match "Rockin' It" but this is still pretty decent. Brought to a lot of people's ears via Street Sounds Electro 7. Tuff City was such a great label for early hip hop, especially these red/orange label releases. See full review
