Shades-of-Grey

Sadly, my journey with music is now over. At 37 years old I developed an ear condition called pain hyperacusis. This means sound causes me physical pain. For the first two years it was mild and somewhat manageable. As of late 2021, it has crippled me to where I am homebound and have to wear hearing protection 24/7. I can no longer listen to music, or do practically anything, as everything involves sound. I can’t even be a father to my children anymore. If you read this message I implore you to protect your ears. My condition was caused by an acoustic trauma listening to loud music on my car stereo. I never knew that music, the thing that meant the most to me outside of my children, would end up destroying me as a person and ruining my life. As much as it would have pained me, I would have given up music for my children, had I known what would happen. I’m so so sorry Liam, Lucian and Olivia. I live with my regrets daily my children.
