The Staalplaat years were magical, and "Fallen Gods" stands as a testament to that: truly ambient and utterly timeless, each piece like a world unto itself. Listening to it is akin to stargazing or watching the clouds pass by or the river flow. Perfect ... See full review

One other possibility is that somebody with poor vision somehow mistook the atom for the six-pointed star, the structure below it for a mizbea'h ha'olah and the blazing torch for a reference to a certain historical event. :)

Hmm, I haven't heard about that. Do you happen to know any more details?

Then they'd have to do with a 4 disc set since each track occupied its own side of the media chosen for original releases.

2 CDs for 50 minutes of music? Seriously? The project's entire discography would fit on those.

What's even the point of releasing just 16 copies? Why not keep it a private release?

Curious to know as to why this was blocked. Anyone has any idea? Is it because of the man with the naked torso on the cover? Or the eagle head patch? Or the tracklist sporting words like "genocidal" and "totalitarian"? Utterly embarrassing.

All of these are valid points in general, but not in this particular case - because:

1) Staalplaat had no problem repressing "Mullah Said" on DLP earlier this year even though one side would also be empty with the original track order (and it sold out ... See full review

What on Earth is this??? Did they seriously think it was OK to butcher the album this way??? I knew Staalplaat were rather... frivolous (for lack of a better word) in their handling of Bryn's works in the last ten years or so, but this takes it to a ... See full review

According to promo material, the original title was supposed to be "Flow States", and this album is the second of a three CD series starting with "Soul Tones".

Haha, yes, it's amazing how wildly tastes can differ. "Maroon" was one of three albums that got me into Muslimgauze in the first place (the other two were "Vote Hezbollah" and "Zul'm"), but when I grew tired of the sound, it lost all appeal. I think 'not ... See full review

Hey, thanks for sharing your opinion! :) I actually largely agree with your point, it's just that he employs the same or similar sounding textures a little bit too often for my taste so I tend to be somewhat dismissive towards such albums. "Mullah Said" ... See full review

Was it really necessary to use all four sides when they could easily do with just three and not only preserve the original track order (which works much, much better IMO), but also screenprint the remaining one, for example? Disappointing, to say the ... See full review

[quote=marsmars2] Rapoon's music speaks volumes to me on each release. If he could double his catalog, I would welcome them all in to my collection. But it's not for everyone, I get it... I hope you find the same happiness with another musician that I ... See full review

Chiming in to point out that The Rita was there long before Vomir. Also, I think it's pretty easy to see how somebody might like The Rita's walls but not Vomir's.

Why, oh why would one choose to redo the absolutely classic album artwork? If the band were so unhappy with it, they could put the new one on outer slipcase. But the way it's done here simply ruins the album for me. Especially the ugly strip at the top ... See full review

With all due respect, it only possibly holds true for his ambient works, and even then those are largely a one-trick pony: once you've digested one, you've digested them all. His more cinematic, percussive and even rhythmic (= beat-oriented) releases are ... See full review

This EP is a great introduction to the more percussion-oriented, rhythm-heavy side of Muslimgauze, and not because of its short length, but due to the stellar choice of samples, flow and composition.

This tape is what Hawkwind would've sounded like had they been one of the original second-wave bands.

This is getting beyond ridiculous. What's next, a Prurient/RfSE/VSh white-label lathe-cut 5" with no actual music on it limited to 5 copies in generic sleeves with the initial selling price of $6666?

One of those special recordings where the end result really is much more than just the sum of its parts - even, strangely enough, when 'solo' tracks are concerned.

The best thing about this tape is the artwork. The actual music/noise is a huge letdown considering the personnel involved; sounds really dull and uninspired for most of the duration, with only occasional moments of brilliance, and even then they're few ... See full review

"After the Storm" alone makes this CD a must, and it's not even the best track on the album. It's all in the flow, not just in the strength of individual compositions.

Just a note: since "Без гражданства" (literally "Without citizenship") is apparently a legal term, a more appropriate translation would be "Stateless".

The pricing is ridiculous, and it's especially confounding in light of the recent Skin Crime box. Can't blame the man alone if there are people willing to pay such prices, though.
