Obrigado! Great info to have. Where did you find the credits?

This 7" version of "Makesu" is different than the LP version; it appears to be a different take, as opposed to re-mixed.

My copy has pressing defects. Clicks on side B for the first 2 minutes, and at various other points. The sound is decent (I can't compare it to anything, though).

So you upset with the artist for releasing his music the way he wanted to release it? Do you like the music, though? I think that is what Mr. White was getting at with his stripped down album layouts. It's about the music.

Bossa trios in this vein are incredible. I couldn't agree more!

Does it seem to anyone else that the keys on "Cantaloupe Island" are mixed very low? The bassline is very prominent but the rest of the keys are almost faded in the background. Can anyone confirm this against another pressing?

There is in fact 5 songs on the A side of my copy of the '81 LP.

In my opinion, this is one of the top jazz albums, regardless of style, of the 70s. Idris Muhammad, Woody Shaw, Harold Vick, what a line up!

My copy sounds good, though the cover is a different color scheme, it’s pinkish-purple & yellow.

My reissue has a "Made in England" sticker on the front. Is there a UK pressing or is the sleeve what was printed in the UK?

Yes, this version has no punch, is quieter, and the high frequencies are cut down. I'm listening side to side with an original pressing right now.

Does anyone know if this is a bootleg or an official release?

Are there any differences between this pressing and the original pressing?

This is from Marietta, PA, which is right next to my home town, Lancaster, PA. The B side is an incredible, psychedelic, percussive freakout. The A side is aight, but "The B-Side wins again!"

It is the bootleg. I have a copy. It sounds great. The bass is boosted a lil bit, too, which is nice (no distortion). I would definitely recommend getting this (still expensive), unless you don't care about dropping the bread for the original....

My Argentinian pressing sounds fine. I don't notice any low noises.

The guitars and percussion on this album are unbelievable. St. Augustine has a way of using his horn in a way that mimics a human voice. It's beautiful music.

I just ordered the Argentina press, when I get it, I will let you know.
